RE: Greetings Blazers
Man, I completely forgot about the Penders fiasco. That ranks right up there with the Memphis player slapping the student. Good times...

I'm looking forward to the 6-pack of Shiner Bock I'll be getting from my Coog alum co-worker after the game.

We were regularly better than many of the current AAC teams back in the day. Time for us to set the record straight again.
I was sitting about five rows behind Tumbledown Tom Penders when he had that heart attack. It must have been UAB Hospital only being a few blocks away that allowed him to be back on the bench for the second half.
He never left the tunnel. He had the “heart attack, fainted, and was taken into the tunnel. When he thought he couldn’t he seen he sat up immediately. No CPR, ACLS, medications, IVs, etc. they may have put some oxygen on him for looks, but dude was 1000% faking it.

RE: Greetings Blazers
I respect Houston and think they have a great team.
I counter that with the facts that we are playing our best ball of the year, have a March star in the making, and have beaten plenty of teams better than Houston in the tournament before. We have a veteran, savvy team, who wants more than just to show up and be there. But we’re also playing with house money a bit too - no one really expected us to be here after taking our terrible 3 Ls in conference play. It’s a good combination of factors and the wind seems to be in our sails a bit.
Like many of our games this year, I can see UAB winning a close one, and I can also see UAB getting blown out. When we’re good, we’re GOOD. When we’re bad, we are pretty embarrassingly bad.

You wouldn't be playing UH in the tournament if that was still the case.

He didn't claim a heart attack. He said he sometimes gets dizzy standing up too fast due to a heart condition. As an old fart, I do too even without a heart condition although i generally cant get up too fast

RE: Greetings Blazers
UAB particularly enjoyed beating Penders because of some stuff he said about UAB when he was at Texas.
