If it means it's actually big (good) news then fine.

It's not like it can be one of Bates' assistants. Any hire I'll give the benefit of the doubt.

So, it appears WMU is charting a different path?

Not really shocked. If Saddi wasn't coming home when KB and Jeff were trying - he wasn't going to come when some new AD came to town. Tough pill to swallow

Not surprised Saddi staying in AA. To me…the interesting comment within Tony Paul’s tweet is the part about “money not being the issue in 2022”. Not sure if that’s true or not but an interesting comment nonetheless.

Since we’re sitting at 3 weeks now since Bates departed, I went back to check when TL was hired for FB. Lester was hired on 1/13/2017….about 10 days after PJ left. This hire is taking a long time.

Pretty much expected, that ship had long sailed, and I’m actually a bit relieved the Saddi saga is over with. Great guy and alum, but he’s been too romanticized by the fan base.

There are equally capable coaches out there who can do the job. And Saddi’s decision likely had less to do with WMU, and more about his attachment to scUM/AA. It’ll take a “bigger time” job opening to move his family away somewhere.

College football's season was also 100% completed when PJ left... he was a SUPER late departure. I won't be shocked if we have a coach this weekend.

Fair point for sure.

Yep, Tony Paul also said that we're "likely to have its next head coach by the end of the weekend". He's usually solid on his scoops.

Saddi was never leaving UM for this Mickey Mouse operation. He'll land a good mid-major or low tier P5 job in the next year or 2.

Tony Paul also said Saddi isn't interested in the WMU job.

Could be waiting for his son to graduate from high school. His daughter is already in college

Final interviews are this weekend. So it looks like a couple guys still in the running. I also expect an announcement this weekend or early next week.

RE: Bring Saddi Home
Just had a conversation with a friend with UofM connections. He told me that Saddi is not out of the running. Saddi has been offered by WMU and is very interested but they are still negotiating.
