I laughed. I was also thinking last night how grateful I am that the isn't the case.

More fans watch our hockey program than basketball. Kathy said that herself when she chose to renovate Lawson instead of the basketball arena bout 10 years ago. So it does in fact matter to our AD at least. We had about 10 million to spend and they put it all into Lawson.

Because it doesn't fit the narrative that some people have that she didn't know what she was doing. She has an extensive history of strong hires.

I don’t really look at them as a “hiring search”. Andy Murray says he’s interested it’s a no brainer. Then after AM you just promote the assistant.

As a head coach Fife w/l record was 82-97.
Read todays twitter posts by Indiana fans. Most are glad he is gone.

Kinda amazing so many Indiana boosters are happy Indiana Alum got fired. Read between the lines.

Why? You are as good as your record says you are, right?

When Fife was HC at IPFW they were transitioning to D-I.

Their winning percentage improved every year he was there.

People would be okay with Fife (recently fired former B10 assistant) yet not okay with Dwayne Stephens?

Granted Fife likely needs a gig…and may be a cheaper hire.

I am surprised he was fired, could there be more to the story? I read one article speculating that Fife’s departure was due to redundancy of recruiting contacts. The same article did provide Fife high praise as a defensive coach.

Difference between Fife and Stephens is Fife has head coaching experience and is nine years younger.
