He will use his free year at a JUCO and see if he gets does better than EMU. He could come back. He had fumble problems early on here.

I think our OC should be different from our HC for starters. 2nd we all know the importance of QB position but how important is it to CC if he himself isn’t looking to work with the talent he have remember he looks to the transfer portal for starters and for Band-Aids!
That doesn't make CC different than almost every other coach.

If Viotto came to EMU and played well his first year or two then he'd likely try to "transfer up". The days of a 4 year starter at one school are long gone.

I don’t think anyone is coming to EMU playing their first year as a starter. It’s not part of CC culture or plan, only if he’s a guy from the transfer portal.
And what we have from the portal is Powell who’s at school #3 Missouri then lost the starting job last year at Troy and we have Smith who I think is a sophomore academically but a redshirt freshman? Powell is a mature guy but I think Smith is ready to play also. Isn’t Smith the kid from Georgia?

I thought Camron McCoy is more talented than Smith when I saw them play in the spring game.
CC likes a QB that can run BUT CC plays the QB with the best decision making. Hard to see a true freshman starting.

RE: 2022 EMU FB Spring Ball Thread
Just wanted to recognize the social media posts I've been seeing surrounding the workouts the guys have been participating in. These seem different and that's awesome. Cid alluded to this earlier that Alex was saying the approach is different and harder than it's ever been. I know championships aren't won by measuring lifts but these guys seem totally locked in to win a MAC.

I truly think that we are very deep with talent and I also think that NIU winning the MAC last year shows that preseason projections don't mean much.
