President Hurley's report to Stephenville City Council
Dr. Hurley and CFO/VP of Finance & Administration Lori Beaty appeared before the Stephenville City Council on March 1, to provide some updates and future projects concerning the university's growth and expansion (new parking garage, Health Sciences Building, new terminal degree programs in health care, athletic facilities, hotel and convocation center).

RE: President Hurley's report to Stephenville City Council
Hurley is not afraid to answer question. It seems that they are expanding another year of large student growth. Freshman numbers are up and they are all coming to the Stephenville campus.

I'll focus on athletics since that is the point of this board.

-Baseball and Softball facilities were recently redone and he promoted that

-New NCAA Swimming facility will open very soon

-They are going to build a new T&F on the current intramural fields space.

-Next phase of the locker rooms is in the works to expand football operations.

- New Convocation Center (new Basketball) expected to hold 7500+ right now.

-Convocation Center allows us to think about Conference movement "strong position to think about FBS at some point". Other conferences are interested in Tarleton and leadership has had conversations with the WAC.

I really like hearing about moving the track. I have always hated the appearance of a track and football stadium.

The FBS mention is interesting. They mentioned the WAC and also others.

Great, more bleachers to not fill. Don’t get me wrong, it’s neat but we didn’t even pack it out this year when they were begging people to go… gonna look like Texas State- all nice renovations with 20% capacity.

Filling out the new, higher capacity, stadium and arena should be of the utmost concern. We should incentives, on-campus undergrate, attendance… what is the downside?

Their is NO REASON that Tarleton football and MBB games should be anything less that a sell out.

FBS and TOURNAMENT Cinderellas in the near future!!!
BLEED PURPLE!!!

Did he mention exhuming the bodies across the street from the engineering building? That’s been his big thing lately.
