Good article that February 22nd marks two of the greatest games in DUBB history. The 5OT WBB win over NU and the MBB 34 point comeback win over UD.

RE: February 22nd in DUBB History
That 34 point comeback game vs. Delaware was special for sure. I was joking with my buddy in the first half, and kept saying every time Delaware hit a 3-pointer and dug a bigger hole, "That's OK, it will just make it even more awesome when we come back and beat them".

Regarding the other game, it's kind of like Wilt's 100 point game in Hershey. It wasn't on TV, not sure if there was radio coverage or not, since Drexel was late to the game with audio and video streaming. It was a Thursday night and the attendance isn't listed on the box score. And since the team was bad, it's safe to assume that very few people were there that night, but like Wilt's game, many more will claim that they were. I can only vouch for Mr. and Mrs. Timer being there. I was not.
I'll admit that I never paid much attention to women's basketball before that game. But learning about that game, I realized that special things can still happen in women's basketball and we had a very special player at Drexel. That was the point that I started paying attention, and as a result, I've gotten to watch a really good WBB team at the DAC for many years since then.

I will say the scorebook and my timing/TO sheet were royally screwed. I was originally contacted by the Inky for comment, but they rightfully spoke with the Scorer for the article.

i was at that women's game. i would imagine foty was there too. i'm not sure who else was in the dac pack.

more and more people are having a story like "this is the night i bought into the women's team". cat scanlon was a fellow bio major on the team when i was a freshman and my friends knew her well so we mostly went to see her. i didn't realize until recently that denise was an assistant at first before she got the head coaching job.

marginean was a different kind of player. i remember her as a freshman flying up and down the court out of control. our staff did a great job putting her energy into the right places. she was the first in a long line of players denise puts on the floor that can do a little bit of everything. siegrist is the latest iteration. she scored 18 points in the 2nd quarter last night. probably more polished and a better shooter than marginean...but nobody played harder than marginean.

I'm impressed you thought about winning.
