RE: 2022 Baseball
Id rather them do all non-conference in September/October and then break until league play starts the first weekend in April.

That would be interesting. A trip down South in March for a little 'spring training" and then off to the races.

Yikes lost 3 out of 4 to Ohio. I know they have rallied late in the season in the past, but I'm gonna say this is the year the 30 win streak ends[/align]

Abysmal series. Gave up 40 runs in 34 innings.

Is it pitching ... is it defense ... or is it both???

Defense has been solid. Only one error this weekend and just seven on the season.

Team ERA of 7.55.

Plenty of time to turn it around, just not what we’re used to.

Don't think the turnaround is coming. Either we don't have the talent we used to or the leadership is lacking. We have seen what we get with Duncan at the helm and it's not very good (by KSU standards).

Entire Athletic program is off the rails. We don’t win the number of championships we used to. Football is better, Mens and Womens Basketball hanging up winning seasons , but not championships. Wrestling, Baseball, Volleyball ugh…
Soccer and track , holding on because of generational great coaches.
Lacrosse blames failures on being new.
Softball not looking good so far. Field Hockey not dominant anymore.
Golf ? Womens streak could end and Men will have a tough road to winMAC.
Either rest of MAC has done more or we have fallen back.

Golf is doomed and not because Herb Page left. Once Golf Channel got involved our ability to recruit was hurt. The top golfers will now be more attracted to the big schools that get a lot more coverage. We were good but never good enough to be challenging for a championship EVERY year. I saw the same thing happen in women's basketball in the 90’s, wrestling once it went big on ESPN and now gymnastics with the SEC network (psuedo ESPN). Combine this with the transfer portal and the smoothie machine in the Ohio St. wrestling facility and we won’t stand a chance.

The portal as we know it today has changed everything for programs like ours. It was a miracle a player like Rosie Nix stayed with his commitment because the big boys came calling late and he was loyal to who was in on him first. In today’s game we never would’ve gotten him, but if we did he’d have been in the portal as soon as that first season ended.

OSU got a smoothie machine? LOL! I recently saw a kid that transferred from one school to another raving about the smoothies they get. The school he left has one of the top dining experiences for students, but hey they got a smoothie machine in the new locker room. Priorities…07-coffee3

I can tell you that Kent does not have one of the top dining experiences for students right now. In fact, it sucks.

Totally agree re dining options. Some of our teams eating fast food on road before and after events.
I will write the check for the KSU smoothie machine if contacted . I’m
Serious , but won’t be surprised if KSU admins who monitor this site never contact me. Stay tuned……. Offer is valid 30 days from today.

Oh they might take you up on the offer, but it would stay in their office and you might see some tweets about how cool it is. 03-shhhh

RE: 2022 Baseball
It's kind of interesting to see the general feelings of gloom around the athletic department on here since the casual alumni only pays attention to football and the MAC tournament. From that perspective we look like we're off to great start under the new AD. Not saying you guys are wrong, just pointing that out.

That is too bad because when I lived on campus the dining options were overall pretty good. The student center upstairs for lunch and the main area for dinner both had good options and I rather enjoyed the sandwich and later wrap shop in prentice (though not the actual dining hall there). Rosies in Tri Towers had some good choices in it too and it was open all night so there was always something back in the early 2000s up to about 2009. That is really too bad if it has gone down hill.

I agree. I thought the food options were just fine back in the day.

Yeah, they changed vendors this school year and it's been a bit of a wreck. They used Aramark in the past and they are pretty good. I don't know who they are using now, but it hasn't been good. Hopefully, they fix it quickly.

RE: 2022 Baseball
I think it’s all about perspective, people like to complain and compare it to prison food just because other do, it doesn’t mean they’re right. I’ve been on a campus quite a bit the past few years and enjoy the dining halls on guest passes while my student gripes and complains because they see the same place and pick from the same a couple times a day. The choices and quality of selection is top flight, their dining is rated as one of the tops in the country, and when I go there’s no shortage of things I’d rather focus on. Pasta, spanish, deli, salad, pizza, Italian, Asian, burgers, dessert, fruit, ice cream, enclosed room for those with food allergies etc., the distinct bars set up for each type is impressive. Don’t like that meal you can go downstairs and grab a meal from ChikFila or Stake & Shake or a couple other FF places using a meal punch. Yeah, I don’t get it.

You know a baseball team is boring when by page 2 of the Baseball 2022 thread the conversation has turned completely to what the food is like on campus.
