About to have a tv show based on the company as well, which will be a cross between hunting/fishing like Duck Dynasty and Counts Custom or the like where you do customizations of firearms instead of cars, etc.

Haha! I forget we have old blood here still. I haven’t since Covid, but I actually just booked a show in Bossier in June and one coming up in Dallas. Not nearly as much as I use to, but still occasionally.

Prayers your way at this trying time of year.
Did Audit for 4 years, got out to do IT for a little bit, and now jumping back in to do Advisory/Consulting.
I'm really happy where I'm at now. It's very busy, but it's not 'take your life away' busy. The people I work with are all about family first, work-life balance, etc.
I was in Big 4 for 2 years before this, and it nearly broke me. It's great for single folks right out of college to get that stamp on your resume then move on, but to make a career out of it takes a special kind of person
I feel ya. Burn and churn got me after I made Senior at a B4

My son on the Autism Spectrum went through the SC Voc Rehab program in Rock Hill. Much respect for the amazing under-appreciated support y'all provide.

I forget the exact number, but it was a super low percentage of 1st year seniors ever make it to manager (usually a 3 year period).
I saw one of my buddies (he was a 1st year senior) towards the end of busy season a few years ago and I'm not exaggerating when I say he looked like he had been through hell and back. Dark circles, thousand yard stare, etc. and when I said hey to him, all he said back was '84 hours. 84 hours for 6 straight weeks. How is that possible.' He left a few weeks later.

That’s my experience. Was averaging 87 for 2 straight months last year.

I'm a proposal writer for a large software company. I've been doing that for almost 6 years. 100% remote, work from home. I haven't seen a co-worker in person since October of 2016.
Prior to that, I did similar stuff for 2 aerospace companies and 1 defense company.

Worked for a big 4 for fours years. Left when my almost 2 year old (at the time) was calling the telephone “daddy” because that was the vast majority of our interaction. I learned a lot and got some great experience (worked on the XM Radio IPO). Been working for federal Office of Inspector General doing performance audits since.

How about a new "what do you do" thread?
I'm a VP for a mid-sized rental drilling tool company currently living in West Texas. Plan to retire this August and move back to the Hub City. I started in the oil patch in 81 at 25.
Moved overseas in 89 with my wife and 3 kids, aged 1,2, and 3. We figured it out after the third child was born. We went overseas to pay off debt on a house from the 86 oil bust. We ended up staying 20 years, living in 7 different countries. Missed a lot things back home while gone, but we made so many friends and saw so many things we never dreamed of; we would do it all again.
