RE: Game #23 - Charleston
Tribe is 4-5 in CAA and tied for 5th with Drexel while CoC is 3-5 and tied for 7th in CAA with JMU.

CoC has a NET of 159 while we have a NET of 332. We lost at CoC 74-73 last week on a baseline shot by Meeks with 1.1 seconds to play in a game where we were down in the second half by 15 at 63-48 with 8:38 to play points had had a wonderful comeback to up 73-72 with 9 seconds to play. We had 12 TO for game to their 16 but had another rough night shootings 3's going 7-25 and only hit 10-15 FT. Carroll was the best player on the court for us in this game setting a National statistical record of 16pts, 9Reb, 6 steals, 5 blocks, plus 1 assist.

Key players for CoC:

John Meeks 6'6" GRAD F 15.5 PPG and 5 Reb
Reyne Smith 6'2" FR G 12.6 PPG and 2.6 Reb
Brenden Tucker 6'3" JR G 11.5 PPG and 2.3 Reb
D Underwood 6'4" Grad F 10.4 PPG and 6.7 Reb

Vegas says we are 7.5 underdogs at home.

Let us Defend our Court!

RE: Game #23 - Charleston
This game opened with Charleston as a 6 point favorite. It’s now up to 8 points. Money is running to the Cougars.

I wonder what the betting world is looking at given we just lost down there by a point and have covered in all but one CAA contest.

They are looking at our OOC results and betting that we have to fall back to earth and are more that team than the team we've shown recently.

IMO, smart money is on W&M. We've been consistently a better squad during conference play. We are home and CofC doesn't usually travel well.

And CofC has never won in Williamsburg. We suspect that has to end someday but hopefully not today and we can keep on saying it until it happens.

RE: Game #23 - Charleston
It is still going to come down to can we continue that mini-run of low turnover games (11-12 per) that we have had in 3 out of 4 games. If so, I think we win. If not, (and they are the unforced, out near half court, type) we better be playing some hellacious defense to stay in it.

RE: Game #23 - Charleston
I guess it is the same bettors that keep putting UNCW as underdogs in nearly every game. They are only 1 point favorites tonight against Elon.

Something will have to give there with the Saturday line.

The Tribe needs wins in the next 2 games. A tall task, but the road beckons after Saturday.

I don't think UNCW has won much in Williamsburg either recently(their last win in Williamsburg was January 2012). Admittedly, it has been a great series since 2013. COC has had some great games with the Tribe as well. I'd rank the Cougars, Seahawks, and the Pride as the best game basketball rivals in the last 10 years.

RE: Game #23 - Charleston
We will be 4.5-6.5 point underdogs vs. UNCW on Saturday, which should clarify that Vegas grades Charleston stronger at the moment.

Whether or not that's fair, we will figure out in the next nine games.

Game #23 - Charleston
Out a bit flat and, so far, a step slow on offense and defense. Tip off was at 7pm. Need to wake up

Charleston playing at a faster pace than the Tribe in the early going. We need to match the intensity without turning it over in the process.

1 bucket for the Tribe since the 13:00 minute mark (1 for our last 8).

Just not doing much. And the bench appears to be thin if we are looking for a spark.

Team has looked like the pre-Christmas Tribe. A whole lot for Fisher to dig in on at halftime.

In the bonus, but not taking advantage. Multiple missed front ends of 1 and 1s

Being outplayed all around. What cards does Fischer have to play to shake things up?
