Yeah between not doubling Thompson and continuing to go to Juric, it was puzzling at best.

Reminds my of the syracuse game when we had a lead and let it slip. I like Spiker but it may be time to start seeing other options.

it didn't occur to me right away but...yes...it was exactly like the syracuse game. total melt down in the 2nd half and we let one guy kill us. time has proven syracuse isn't a very good team and somebody we probably should have beaten if we're a good basketball team.

Maybe its true, but its not happening. We are coming off a title. This season may end up showing it was a fluke, but there is no way we are cutting ties after winning a title and ending our 25 year drought. He is completely safe. If he flops next year, again, his seat may start to get warm, but after this season itll still be cold.

I agree with Dan. With our old AD, Drexel had always shown loyalty to their coaches and the school doesn't have this win at all costs philosophy where they keep on hiring and firing coaches until they become a perennial champion. I don't see that changing with the new AD. With Bruiser, he had been here forever and it was just time for a change. Coach Spiker and the players who he oversees have represented this program extremely well even when they're not winning. Sprinkle in a championship every once in a while, and at Drexel, that's enough for the school to be happy.

RE: Game #18 @ Towson
To your point, we have far too much talent on this team to be up and down. There are nights we look like we are unbeatable with great ball movement and then we follow that up with a team that looks lost with no identity, player standing around with no off ball movement. Games like Towson where we basically gave Cam the ball and said "good luck" should not happen. This team is too good to need to rely on ISO ball. It is absolutely maddening. Does that fall on the coach? I would imagine so, but expectations at Drexel are pretty low. Our new AD has not really said anything on her vision or expectations, but our fans do not need to be like a JMU where the first sign of weakness we want the coach gone. Fact is we have so much talent on this team that its hard to know who shouldnt be getting time. I would hate to jeopardize that talent because the results are not good enough. Its been quite some time since we had this type of talent and first time ever having this much depth. It is not the time to blow it up.

RE: Game #18 @ Towson
i'm going to guess dfl means we should look at something else in reference to make adjustments. i agree with jb and and dan...we're nowhere near a coaching change. i would be the first to back up the title last year and probably snap at anybody who tries to say it wasn't meaningful because of all the postponements and other things that went on.

that doesn't mean we can't discuss concerns we have. that's what message boards are for. we are seeing the first full season of this staff with a d-1 roster against the full caa slate...so we're going to find out what these guys are really made of.
