Back to the subject at hand, The AAC is going big to start negotiations, No way are damages close to what they are asking. Left over schools are going to have more $$ than before the 3 left. My guess still is 17 to 20 mil out the door for the 7 leftovers plus the 2 splits leftovers will have aprox 50 to 55 million to divvy up.

From the Cincinnati Enquirer. Looks to me the negotiations are happening, and will end well in UC's favor, just have to play ball with the AAC in negotiating.

If a deal gets done for 1 the bar is set for all 3. I expect it will get done sooner rather than later. My guess is somewhere near UCONN deal, maybe with a promise of a OCC game or 2. Possibly in FB and BB.

It is in the best interest of all involved to get it done.

I just don't get it. What do the left behinds get out of keeping the 3 in conference 1 more year. It's really of no use to them other to stick it to them or to bring 10 more fans to their stadium. Being petty like this makes them lose out on just south of $3 million dollars each in departure fees if its the UCONN number. Its crazy........

At the end of the day they won't lose it. Both sides want it settled. The leftovers are simply fighting to get every penny they can.

Areaco said the other day the AAC is trying to keep UC lacrosse and UCF men’s soccer in the conference since the BXII does not sponsor those sports. This tells me this is likely to be an amicable negotiation and will happen fairly soon.

i like Aresco - i think he'll negotiate calmly and professionally. the problem on these boards is basically that a lot of the fans of leftover AAC schools are simply jealous. they'd give their left nuts to be coming to the B12.

but, their opportunity, in a lot ways, was, and is, the same one that UC, UCF and UH has had. those three invested in their programs, to keep them growing and moving forward. if these other schools want to move, their fans need to push them to do the same - invest in coaching, facilities and recruiting. if they don't or won't, those schools will remain where they are, or slide back, without UC, UC and UH pulling them up. there's no question that UC, UCF and UH have done a lot to elevate the AAC. Now. some of the other schools have to step up. for example, temple and USF have great markets, and haven't done a thing, except piss off their fans, who just constantly take shots at UC, UCF and UH.

Read somewhere a day or 2 ago the 3 are negotiating as a group. This would make things simpler for both sides. Small side issues that vary per team can get folded in pretty easy, like UC Lacrosse and UCF Soccer staying, those are kind of no brainers for both sides.

That makes sense. All three schools will be paying the same amount. It’s not as if they will release one or two and hold another school hostage.

Our AD said just this week that the three schools are working together when it comes to negotiating the buyout.
