Man, I'm going to have a hard time doing that. I've been a fan since the very early 70's.
I mean, eff him still, but I don't know if I can stop listening. In fact I'm listening to Powderfinger right now, one of my top 10 all time favorite songs.
LOL, man I'm such a hypocrite.
No harm in listening, just don't give him any of your hard earned bucks. He's not looking out for your interests anyway. He's a Commie, seems like.

The other day people were burning their Carhartt stuff.. Guess what I'm not. I bought it before they set the mandates.. In 3 weeks they'll change their stance.
Same with this.. Unless you're actively paying, I wouldn't worry about it.
RE: Spotify removes Neil Young music after he gave them ultimatum…either him or Rogan
Found it, he sold 50% of his catalog to a UK firm last year. Seems they might not be happy with Mr. Young if his stuff generated any income from Spotify.

Old me hates old Neil politics. But I still love young Neil's music.

Big Time......Back in the day Neil would catch grief from Graham Nash and others for not being down for the struggle, not using his influence for political movements. His response was I'm a musician not a politician....Since he quit smokin' dope, got old, and hooked up with the spawn of Satan Daryl Hannah, all he does anymore is politically motivated crap. Neil should have taken his own advice, "It's better to burn out than to fade away".

Powderfinger is my favorite. The Live Rust version.
Gonna miss uncle Neil
I agree, that whole album is phenomenal.
I'm not usually a big fan of covers, especially when they fool around with the original arrangement but this is sublime. Of course I've never heard anything from Cowboy Junkies I didn't like.

Huh? He's an outstanding song writer and although his voice and guitar playing aren't technically correct it all combines for a unique sound and one that is very powerful on his harder stuff. He can do more with a single note on an electric guitar than anyone out there, lol.
I've seen him a few times, once he came out and started tuning his guitar, it was obviously out of tune and he couldn't get it tuned so he said "eff it, let's go" and proceeded to blow me and everyone else away with an out of tune guitar.

For those of us of a certain age in the late '70's/early '80's, getting high/getting laid/getting preachy with our has-been parents/teachers/employers is pretty much what life was about. Neil Young hit all of those boxes.

HA! I remember my little brothers getting those Big Wheels and us tearing the crap out of them for them. We were mean. We'd buy them slot car tracks or mini-bikes or go carts for Christmas and spend all night Christmas Eve well into the early a.m. tearing them up before they could use them. Good times.

Same here man except I started listening to Neil in the mid 1990s after I heard Pearl Jam (specifically Eddie Vedder) was influenced by him heavily. It sucks. PJ eventually turned me off because of their political views. Is it really that hard to be a great artist and be conservative or at least not crazy?

Uncle Neil, the Godfather of Grunge.
I won't stop listening to PJ or Neil now that I think about it. I'm not going to allow them to spoil my experience. I'm not about to buy anything new from any of the artists who can't leave their politics out of their music but I won't change the station if they come on the radio just out of principle.

Joe Rogan was paid $100 million. Who knows how much Rogan has made Spotify or what the upswing is on Rogan, but I'd say it's more than Neil Young.
Spotify knows Rogan got paid, will take the show, and go back from whence he came and keep on rocking.
Spotify has basically told their own employees "go fish" over Rogan and now seems willing to do the same to lower level artists as well over Rogan.
Rogan's numbers must be great.
Its one of the most listened to podcasts, it usually ranks number 1. I'm still catching up on old episodes and haven't gotten to his newer stuff.
I rarely listen to him and can't see myself ever listening to an entire podcast from anyone including him. Some of the clips I've seen though have been very interesting and informative. I'm a casual fan. I do like him a lot as a UFC announcer.
