They need to let these kids declare for the draft & lift the age restriction; or require them to stay in college through their junior year, like baseball. This one & done rule is just too disruptive.

Its ok. This sends the right message to future recruits. It says we respect your pro career; and we will help you get ready. We wont ask you to put yourself at risk. Come to Memphis where everyone is in sync that you are just here as long as it improves your marketability.

This is the type of player our fans want Penny to recruit. Its the reason we hire the coaches we hire and fire the coaches who don't go after potential pros. We don't want the 5year red shirt guy with heart. We want future pros... who don't care who we are.

Tool time.

Don't worry about Stammers. He said it's OK. We're 10-8 right now, but we are 18-0 if you only count the last 18 games we won dating back to last season.

Why is it nonsense? No different than guys not playing in bowl games. A top of the lottery guy on a ratty team. Couple months til season is over. And his finger hurts? Come on . Keep those blue kool aid glasses on though.

Unfortunately it’s the same for kids not playing in bowl games. College sports isn’t what it use to be. Very few care about staying multiple years and winning a title. If it weren’t for the NIL we likely wouldn’t have Duren or Bates. That’s a fact. If they or their people feel like it’s not beneficial to keep losing to ratty American teams then they should leave.

We hire coaches who who we think will win. We fire the ones that don’t. At the end of the day great recruiting classes create excitement but losing with 5* players is a lot less exciting than winning with 3* seniors. It always come down to winning and losing in the end.

With the multitude of college alternatives this seems to be a very viable rule to implement. High level players who don’t want to play college ball can go to the NBA or G League for a year or two with the chance to be called up at any time. It is the MLB minor league system.

They have been repeating this shtick literally since the preseason.
Any time Duren or Bates is out, here we go again.
Granted, they've missed A LOT of time this year.
But they've come back every single time.
Much to the chagrin of some here.

That ship has sailed. An archaic, closed-minded, elitist NCAA leadership destroyed any chance of a logically managed college sports system.

One and done. Transfer portal gone crazy. NIL. Power 5 vs everybody else. Unlimited wealth for a few. All the results of a good ole boys network that thought things would never change.

Let me ask one simple question...

Do you think the NCAA has the power to stop a kid from going to the NBA.
