But what we got now ain't that. At that point in time, we had bodies; we had the pieces. It was mostly a matter of putting them together effectively. We're missing multiple important pieces in the here and now. We're not gonna finish 24-12, or even close to it. Would love to be wrong..............but I'm not.

At that point in time.............Bucs were trending up - and it was easy to see it. The team was jelling and the team chemistry was taking shape. Quite the contrary at the moment.

This is comparing apples and oranges. Different years, different teams, different personnel, different situation. Picture Forbes’ first team without say, Isaac Banks and a key sub off the bench. Forbes had brought in some key pieces too that Dez didn’t have the opportunity to bring in. So this isn’t really a fair comparison, but please tell me I’m wrong and refer me to a post from October where you correctly predicted everything, including the weather today.

????? What? OF COURSE it's apples and oranges. That's my point(s)! And I must be missing yours. I wasn't trying to make a "fair" comparison - because one cannot be made.
I'm not gonna take the time to go back right now, but do you remember me saying I don't see much upside for this team? May have been November instead of October, but I was definitely one trying to tamp down enthusiasm for this team.

You done F'ed up son, he will go back 4 years to prove whatever point he thinks he made if he has to. Hell, I remember he saved posts from one of the old ETSU boards and used them in an argument.
Also do not and repeat DO NOT start a thread to talk about something that might have been discussed before (on a board for discussion) you will be scolded, have the old thread pointed out, and he will actually go find the thread and bump it to "prove" his point. lmao.

I start new threads because
1. I am lazy I don't want to go back 6 months looking for a thread.
2. New information, No point in wading through a few pages of old crap to talk about it now
3. To piss him off. << most important.
And since I only see his crap when someone quotes it, best of both worlds I know it bugs him but I don't have to deal with him.

Just very quickly.............here's one example of my saying we're just not gonna be good this year, from Dec. 15. Pretty sure it wasn't the first time:

Then your reference to Bartow is essentially by your own admission, nonsensical. It doesn’t matter if it reaches yours or my definition of 3 or 4 coaches ago - bottom line it’s been awhile, and we have a different AD and a different administration, at least compared to the one who hired him. .......The team is not necessarily bad, we have beaten some good teams thus far, especially Murray StateD However, they definitely played a poor game and were not able to pull it
out late in a game at home.

I don't disagree with any of that - except that continuing to harp on bartow's legacy is nonsensical. I'm only trying to do the Santayana thing and keep the mistakes of the past in our consciousness so that they never happen again. It's really that simple. I do the same thing with paulie and mullins and the lies that led to the dropping of football. We just can't keep making costly, costly, costly mistakes.
But - it still makes no sense. Bad losses happened with Forbes. With Shay. And with Oliver, tonight. No one is quitting football. And I think just a WEE BIT of patience is needed here. We are 7-4 with some good wins on the resume. If we can right the ship Saturday and then turn around and upset Georgia - this game is a blip. It would haunt us for the NCAAs if we happen to get there - but it’s still a blip. There’s nothing more irrational than a fan message board.

Respectfully..........I'm not following your point here. *I* have patience with Oliver. Nowhere have I said I didn't. You're losing me on whatever you're attributing to me. This is indeed likely a blip - and actually one that might mean very little - if indeed my feeling that this team has limited upside is borne out. We're very likely not gonna sniff the NCAA tournament - and that being the case.......whether we finish 17-12 or 16-13 (purely ballpark guesstimates) isn't really gonna matter much. Gosh - I'd love to be wrong and we go something like 21-7. Right now I just don't see how. I'm patient with Oliver because I know (or believe) that this is not our year. Let him get more of his own recruits and then we'll see.

Nov. 13th, after the Appy game:

"But the thing that keeps nagging at me is I'm not sure how high our upside is with this team, this year. But it's too early to say, of course. It's just that, imo, I didn't see the raw material for a *huge* upside. Hope I'm wrong. Didn't see the overwhelmingly positive chemistry I'm used to seeing - but again, it's early and so many of these guys are new to each other."

Try this out. I'm not a Twitter user, and this is the first time I've tried to paste a link.

If it doesn't work, I just did a search with "twitter bobby rader" to find it.

This is hilarious. Man, you must live for this message board. You get to refer to your own supposed genius and then pat yourself on the back. I’m sure you would point out when you have not predicted something correctly….. oh wait, no you wouldn’t!! Your fragile ego would shatter and you would have to be in therapy for 6 months. Pathetic. Apparently you don’t have the social skills to figure out you’re extremely annoying. Who the hell cares what you predicted?

What's your deal, dude? You seems to have personal animosity towards me for some reason. I'm clueless as to why.

I'm quite sure i don't have " a fragile ego". Hardly. As I've noted multiple times on this forum, I've got a pretty thick skin. And I'm more than willing to admit my mistakes - and have done so as warranted.

I only went back and dug those up because you challenged me on my earlier predictions. The evidence backs up my earlier statements. If you don't care what I predicted, then why challenge me on them?

You did exactly what I thought you would do.

You’re just arrogant. It’s annoying. That’s all. But I love calling it out, and then you going to prove my point. It’s fun. Ok carry on.

Notice you didn't address any of my points.
And to say that I did exactly what you thought I'd do................LOL, dude. You think it wasn't obvious that that's what you wanted? That's way weak. Just because I try to set you straight doesn't mean you've somehow 'caused' me to react.

You call it arrogant; fact is, it's experience and deep knowledge. There *may* be one other person on this board who's got the hoops background I do. And I'm not naming handles. It's possible there's 1 or 2 more, but I really don't think so. It's really not "bragging", altho I'm sure it seems like it. It's a legitimate, factual superiority of experience and knowledge. Doesn't mean I'm smarter; doesn't mean I don't make mistakes or aren't wrong sometimes. But I've more than ably demonstrated over the years that I know what I'm talking about in terms of this stuff, especially evaluating talent.

*You* go ahead and have your fun. It's almost like you've got some sort of Napoleon complex; I don't know what, exactly. I've not pinpointed your failings, nor do I intend to. It'd be a waste of everyone's time. But for this one issue................I predicted, correctly, that this team wasn't going to be "all that". You were more optimistic. There's still time for your prediction to improve. We'll see. But at this point in time..........your optimism isn't showing on the court. Your attempts to deflect from that reality aren't getting the job done.
