not to be overlooked, Rollins going for 25 and 11 on a gimpy ankle was gutsy. Milner and Moss both played through pain in the 2nd half too. Jacobi looking more and more comfortable out there.

Can't scream, yell, eat popcorn, and drink pop throughout the game with a mask on !

Why cant we have 6k there Friday? A lack of weekend games have curved interest by sometimers who could be consistent fans. We hit a stretch late in the year that should draw well.

There are lots of people not attending games because of covid-not just UT.

If you are season ticket holder, won 't go to the games because of covid, donate your seat(s) to vettix so a veteran can go.

Problem I have is that this seems to come from the players and not necessarily TK. He has never seemed to demand it previously. The unselfish passing and defense are most definitely like those of the 76 - 80 teams!

COVID is killing our crowds! That is a SHAME for sure. The 8000 students at OU probably didn't worry about COVID. These kids deserve SRO crowds. Wish we could find a way to deliver them. Go Rockets!!!

It doesn't seem to bother Big 10 basketball crowds, rubbish reason people are not going to the games. Even before covid, when was the last time UT basketball sold out ? UD basketball crowds are right around 13,000 plus, sold out for every game this season, so rubbish on the covid excuse.

I wonder how many watch via the ESPN(3)(+) instead of going to the game. 6 or 7 bucks a month is pretty cheap. Went up this year. I think it was 5 last year.

On another note - just keep playing Toledo Basketball. Can't wait until Friday.

Now talking about the game against UB, I thought previous UB teams were far better in the past than this year's squad. I think their roster has a lot of freshman on the team that play minutes and make mistakes. Yes Mballa is very good on defending his basket and offensive rebounding, but other then that I think his offensive game is lacking. Williams is good, but is he really NBA talent ? I think Rollins is far and above this guy. Sequi ( I thought Miami's Lairy was far better to defend, more quickness) is quick but lacks weight, take him to the hold and see what he does on defense. This is becoming a very good rivalry, two teams that don't like each other. I wonder if any of you that are court side noticed if Moss was doing his trash talking ? Moss reminds me of a hockey forward who is very aggressive on the offensive boards, constantly banging someone into the boards, at the same time doing trash talking, and instigating for someone to drop their gloves and fight. Ala, yesterday's Goaldiggers, Storm teams at the now gone Toledo sports arena.

One more thing when Shumate isn't on, the team responds and picks up the slack. What a pleasure of watching this team play so far ! GO ROCKETS

Buffalo Starters
Segu SR
Jeenathan Williams SR
mballa SR
Jack SR
Skogman RS Soph

TOP 3 Bench minutes
Brewton SR
Fagan Gr student
Jones Frosh

Mark, not a young team at all. I do agree that they aren't as talented as some. But, UT's bench has to be younger than any other in MAC.

Thanks for that info. I was looking at their roster before the game and I had noticed quite a few freshman on their team 4 of them to include soph Skogman What I didn't do is to see how many minutes were these frosh playing. So, it appears they will be real young next season, unless some of these seniors come back to play another year due to covid, if eligible. I would assume Mballa and Williams move on and play pro ball somewhere.

I'm right with you, Springboro, so sick of the covid excuses at this point. I don't know how people keep living like this after going on 2 years now. Also, how does UD pull in 13,000 for a basketball game? That's absurd, considering Toledo's population is nearly twice as much as Daytons. Our men's team only drew 500 more than our women's game this week.

And I'm sure the people who are immunocompromised, or have family members who are immunocompromised, are tired of covid, too. But guess what, they can't just pretend it doesn't exist like a lot of people like to do. It's not like we have more than 2,400+ people dying per day. Oh, wait...

UD has been to the Big Dance 7 times since 2000 and once to the Elite Eight. They were ranked as high as #2 in March 2020. Xavier was a great rival for a long time.' They have not repeatedly come up short for their fan base. Rocket fans want a winner and some national attention with consistency from year to year.

1. Daytons metro is 200,000 people bigger than ours, and thats distinct from Cincy which is also a big metro area of over 1 million.
2. UD is a basketball school with emphasis and money ALL TOWARD BBALL.
3. UD arena is a prestigous arena that hosts NCAA games every year.
4. Success
5. A10 games plus Xavier every other year are great names to come into their building.

Imagine UT games with a B1G slate? Wed sell out every game for the hype of the visitor and environment (and wed probably fair okay on the court).

On the opposite coin, big schools should say "How in the hell does TOLEDOs women draw top 25 numbers in the MAC when B1G schools draw in the 1000 range?"

I think crowds need to be better, and that we have a better team than UD this year for the first time in a while... But come on. Be happy Lucas Countys covid numbers arent that bad and our squads havent missed games because of the pandemic... instead of calling our fans snowflakes for being cautious during a pandemic. So many better things to rant about.

It's a mix per attendance: covid worries, old guard from the glory days dying off, fans used to being disappointed by good teams that can't peak and make the dance, lack of awareness of how much fun TK's teams have become (few fans saw last year's MAC champs, missed out on a carryover to this season). Yeah, some schools and teams fan bases are over it, but many are not. at my daughter's school they had next to no covid cases in November and then there was Thanksgiving and a couple back to school parties and by mid Dec. 9000 kids on campus had covid.
