The Towson coach said that when he was an assistant at College of Charleston that they had a game with Auburn where this occurred.

The surface was noticed before the game, and the Delaware Coach noticed that his shoes were sticking to the court during the national anthem. The Towson coach had the maintenance people mop the court before and during the game. The refs had told the coaches at half that they would call the game if it was still a problem. The game was suspended at 1:18 of the second half.

It is kind of odd that it went from sticky to slick. Maybe they had some odd wax that then got buffed.

The arena is LEED certified. Maybe this results in less humidity control and condensation under certain outside conditions.

Watch out for UAB when they get into the AAC. A lot of tradition with that program. Won't be shocked if they start really sprouting up in the AAC.

I figured Andy Kennedy would get us going again, but not this soon. Tough to say if we’ll be in the NCAA this year, but it’s just nice to be mentioned in the conversation again. My favorite part is, Kennedy isn’t satisfied with this, he has higher goals. Hope he’s here for a long time.

And yes, I’m pumped about joining the AAC for hoops, even with the departures.

Kennedy is a strong hire. He is a UAB man and he seems likely to stay long term. This Memphis fan welcomes the Blazers and the city of Birmingham to the AAC.

RE: CBB Week 11 General Thread/Laughable scores
Alabama just beat Baylor.

Alabama gets the award for the craziest team this year. This past week they lost to Georgia, ranked 213th in the NET before beating Baylor. They've also beaten both Houston and Gonzaga, three of the four teams in last year's Final Four, and also lost to Missouri, Florida, Mississippi State, Memphis, and Iona on a neutral court (they also lost a home game to Auburn but they're the #1 team in the AP poll). Alabama has only lost one home gamer and one neutral site game, five of their seven losses are road games.

Predictably, the SEC fans chanted "SEC" near the end of the game. I didn't see them storm the court. I guess they were afraid of getting fined 03-lmfao

Huge statement win for Kentucky at Kansas, 80-62.

The SEC has now clinched the SEC/Big 12 Challenge, they lead 6-3 with the "UT" battle still on. UK is so far the only road team to win. LSU was ranked and lost at unranked TCU so that was an upset in favor of the Big 12 (NET #10 vs. NET #56). Of course Alabama's win over Baylor makes up for that.

Will the Big 12 want to continue the challenge after Oklahoma and Texas leave? The ACC continued the ACC/Big Ten after the Big Ten stole Maryland but this is a way bigger steal than Maryland.

Interesting. Unranked Texas beat ranked Tennessee. Unranked TCU beat ranked LSU. Unraked Alabama beat ranked Baylor. Lower ranked UK beat KU. Ranked Auburn beat unranked OU and ranked Texas Tech beat unranked Mississippi St. Ranked ISU beat unranked Missouri. So 4 out of 7 today (including 3 unranked teams) the lower ranked team won. SEC won the 3 unranked vs. unranked matchups.

What was boring until it wasn't was Tennessee falling a shot and one point short of pulling off a 16 point comeback with a little over 4 minutes to play.

Bottom line is the SEC decapitated the top of the Big 12 while the SEC's top team won. #1 Auburn wins. #4 & #5 Baylor and Kansas lose. Everything else was give and take. The two ranked SEC teams which lost were #18 & 19. Nice wins for the Big 12, but hardly top 5.

The home team won every game except Kentucky won at Kansas. I'm not saying they weren't upsets but there certainly was a reason to why the "lower ranked" team won in almost every case when they did.

Pacific, with a Net Ranking of 303, knocks off BYU, 76-73. BYU had a Net Ranking of 28.

That’s a resume crusher for BYU.

I wonder if the Big 12 and SEC would ever consider waiting until the beginning of January to set the matchups? You'd have teams knowing whether they would be home and away, but if you could wait to set it, maybe the matchups could have had even more juice.

I didn't watch the game, but I looked at the play by play and it seemed neither team could score the first 7-8 minutes. Then Tennessee decided to quit scoring for 10-12 minutes once they took a 25-22 lead a little before half, and it was a 17 point Texas lead 49-32 with about 8 minutes left. Then Texas scored only 3 points the rest of the game, including the winning FT with 6 seconds left.

Big win for Providence. Realistically one win from an NCAA bid.

Loyola relinquishes 1st place to Drake. They're starting to show chinks in the armor post-Krutwig, and they lose almost everyone next year.

they could easily have to win MVC to make the tourney this year.

I don't even think they're winning the MVC. Their 2 games against the good MVC teams (Drake, MSU, UNI) have been convincing losses. They have 4 games left against that trio.
