Stony Brook Accepts Invite To CAA Accourding To Source

We probably have a sense for what the CAA did during the previous quarter. Will be interesting to hear the forward guidance.

nice to see the CAA covered the 1st fundamental rule on realignment- all realignment must take place on a Tuesday.

I can't see how CoC, Elon, & UNCW will be happy with these adds....

Elon made the switch from the SoCon to the CAA, I wouldn't be surprised if part of the appeal was getting more games in the north, where they recruit their student body from.

I would agree that neither CoC or UNCW fans seem stoked as a whole.

1 bid league that's still a step up. Easier to make a jump to a multi-bid league if you come from one that's closer to that point already than to come from one that's very far away from it.

Yea, Elon's likely just fine with games on Long Island and along the Jersey shore, they pull kids from there.

Hampton is a short trip.

CoC and Elon have more access to NY/NJ high school seniors.

UNC-Wilmington maybe looks around at options. Not sure exactly what's out there that would thrill them and has openings.

I doubt any of those three make CAA more capable of sending more than one team. I still think this is a big stinky compromise for Stony after some of the gusto when it launched the Seawolves United campaign, not long after Hofstra held them up. But, honestly, good for Stony if this was always the plan. Screw Hofstra.

Stony Brook out of the 3 have the better basketball.

And none of those schools have made the tournament since leaving lol.
