Monday Musings
The Snow has begun and we are in the middle of the cbb season. As Contractually obligated here are the musings.
Football is experiencing an exodus, Coaches moving up, (has any other MAC team had a coordinator become a power five head coach) and players trying to find a spot I have heard people against the portal but no one will embrace my solution of 4 year guarantees. Thus no sympathy from the pub.
Its no secret America loves gambling, live tv, and sports. So to me it is time to go from 68 to 128 teams. Start the tourney on campus sites Tuesday and Wednesday. This is a win win for everyone involved (especially the MAC) and maybe some of our good teams of the last decade could've made it.
Now the football playoff I think is fine where it is... until next week.

I'm all in on the four year guarantee, but I would like clearer and more defined rules on coach poaching and transfers.
I'm also all in on the expanded MBB tournament. Let the computer rank the teams and play the early rounds on the higher seed's home court.
Not with you on the CFP. The college football season is short, honestly, I don't think the best MAC team has won the conference championship since PJ Fleck and WMU. The same could be true of the NCAA as a whole, I think Ohio State could have repeated in 2015 if they had not lost to MSU on a frozen field. Also, the amount of players opting out and Oklahoma and Notre Dame coaches leaving early have severely deprecated the value and quality of New Year's Day bowl games.
Get rid of the conference championship games, get a field of twelve teams, play the first round and possibly second round on the higher seed's home field as well. Did you watch that "offensive explosion" when Green Bay and San Francisco played in freezing temps at Lambeau Field? I suspect that if the $EC had to prepare a roster that might have to play in Ann Arbor or Madison, their speed advantage might diminish to a degree.
