I say take the actions from the UAB players after the win as a sign of respect for WKU and just how tough it is to win in that arena even if the squad is only a .500 ball club at the moment.

After a night of sleeping on it, I agree. UAB has a mighty fine team and even in a loss as I said, it was a fun and physical game that was awesome to watch. Jelly is the real deal and WKU is just a player or 2 short from the UAB, LT, UNT portion of the conference.

A player or too short is a wide margin gap, Western fans, welcome to the mediocrity that Marshall fans typically live in. It's not that comfortable here, the furniture is very hard and the coffee takes like burnt cigarettes.

Well those 2 players were on our roster. One went off the reservation and the other got denied eligibility by the NCAA. That's what I was referring too. And you can say its a wide margin gap, but we've lost to those teams by a total of 9 points with essentially 6 warm bodies.

There is a MASSIVE gap between the top three and the rest of us. Stop it. The sooner you can accept that, the healthier.

Best to laugh it off than stay down in the muck and mire.

Half of the WKU fan base cannot see this due to their extreme homerism, they have lost touch with reality. They are too busy shaking hands and kissing Ricks ass to see what's really going on and listening to his country twang, "fine line between winning and losing" literally after every game. This clown Shadow acts like this is a one time thing and has never happened prior under Rick. Rick is highest paid coach in CUSA and what are WKU fans left with? Every year we are waiting on players under Rick and or questions about roster management. Year 6 people!

Sorry.. We just flat out suck. Nothing I can say that will make it better.

I dont mean that necessarily as a dig against Southern Miss or any team in CUSA. It's just the system that sucks that rewards the middling P5s and forces the rest of us to be nearly perfect or we we get kicked out of contention for the Dance.

The only sure fire way to get that invite is to win as much as you can and come out conference champ. Champ Champ if you have to.

The Tourney is being set up as more of the have and have nots, meaning the schools that are in the P5 conferences and those that are pure basketball schools.

RE: CUSA Basketball - Week 5 of Conference Play
Well, I feel bad for Western. They caught a bad break with a few of their top recruits, injury and what not.

But, at some point you have to look at reality. It sucks, look I get it. Marshall was supposed to be much better than this, but we are on a 10-game losing streak with no sign of improvement.

Western isn't broken as badly as Marshall, but there's definitely something amiss, and they're certainly not ready to compete with the top of the league.

If we don't want players celebrating in Diddle, here is an idea, don't give them a reason to celebrate.

Could not have said it better myself. The Box-n-1 was killing UAB but for some strange reason Stansy decides to go man to man on that last possession which was basically daring Jelly to beat y'all.

Exactly. Our guys know WKU is a traditionally good program and it's hard to win in that arena. Let alone the fact that they're 18-22 year old kids that just made an exciting play. Don't like the choice of words, but I'm fine with the emotion. Shows how much they care.

Jelly is locked in right now. Don't know how long he can keep this level of play up, but he may be overtaking Lofton for POY.

Nice shot!

UTEP moves a game ahead of Rice for the coveted 4-spot in the west.

If we can catch and pass y’all for 4th (we still play UTEP twice) then in Frisco we’d draw the easy-peasy 5-seed out of the East.

Right now that’s (checks notes) WKU!

(We wouldn’t mind another shot at Big Red, but on a neutral court this time)

Seriously 4 seed west is a good one because it guarantees your first two games are against the easy-peasy East.

I believe 6'3" Weston posterizing Marshall's 6'8" Anochili-Killen to be a better highlight.

Is RICE allowing fans? That's one of my favorite games to attend. I'm going to miss it when y'all move to the AAC.

I agree. Also the technical for that was BS. He should have got the foul as well.

And the T-Lenard dunk last evening was not too far behind. The athleticism alone was impressive -- thought he was going to lay it off the board.

IF UAB goes on to win the conference and he keeps playing near this current level, I don't see how you can't pick him as CPOY.

Yes we are back open for business, come on out next week. We restricted attendance for only a week or so.

RE: CUSA Basketball - Week 5 of Conference Play
I have been saying all year it's

1) UNT 1) UAB

3) Tech

Well, before today's games are played, I think it is clearly now

1) UAB
2) UNT
3) Tech

I know all teams suffer injuries, but we were thin to begin with and the loss of Crawford for the season has been huge. Even with a healthy Crawford winning CUSA was going to be a challenge for us. Without him we never had a chance. Well...there is always "a chance" since sports can be strange and unpredictable at times. But we do not control our own destiny. Tech is not good enough to go out and win CUSA on our own merits. We are good enough to win the conference if other teams, namely UNT and UAB, decide to be generous and help us out in Frisco. Rice, a very good 3-point shooting team, sucked the other day hitting only 4 of 26 from the arc. No way anyone saw that coming. If Walker is cold as ice, and we decide to shoot FTs well, we can beat UAB on any given day. But...will Walker ever be that cold? I kind of doubt it.

Huge game today, we have to hold serve on our home floor against a very, very, very good UNT team. It'll be tough. A loss today and we are done as for the top 2 in the division and getting that double-bye in Frisco. For Tech, this is our season hanging in the balance today.

What do you expect. It’s Diddle. As of this moment the foul discrepancy is 15 to 2. Give you one guess in whose favor?
