RE: CUSA Basketball - Week 5 of Conference Play
Instead of complaining about UAB players, maybe our coaches need to put our best defender on UABs best player. Rick after the game said they knew Walker was taking last shot yet our best defender was not guarding him and our players had no idea what to do. That's on our vaunted 6 year coaching staff. If we don't want players celebrating in Diddle, here is an idea, don't give them a reason to celebrate.

Could not have said it better myself. The Box-n-1 was killing UAB but for some strange reason Stansy decides to go man to man on that last possession which was basically daring Jelly to beat y'all.
I say take the actions from the UAB players after the win as a sign of respect for WKU and just how tough it is to win in that arena even if the squad is only a .500 ball club at the moment.

Yet we have WKU fans on here wanting to sign Rick to a lifetime contract while literally every CUSA fan base and coaches have fingers crossed Rick gets an extension this spring....Rick has literally done less than any coach in WKUs 105 year history...

I'm just glad Marshall isn't a member of West Virginia's WVSSAC (high school governing body). They wouldn't get out of our section let alone region.
We are......PATHETIC!

Was that 30 years ago? Has zero to do with either team today. Be realistic. Clutch shot but celebrate with your team. Remember this is a 10-10 WKU team this not like beating La Tech or North Texas.
it was while I was a student at UAB and we still played at the BJCC. best guess was the 84-85 season. might have been 85-86.

After a night of sleeping on it, I agree. UAB has a mighty fine team and even in a loss as I said, it was a fun and physical game that was awesome to watch. Jelly is the real deal and WKU is just a player or 2 short from the UAB, LT, UNT portion of the conference.

A player or too short is a wide margin gap, Western fans, welcome to the mediocrity that Marshall fans typically live in. It's not that comfortable here, the furniture is very hard and the coffee takes like burnt cigarettes.

Listen, it worked out great for y'all so I'm going to suggest that your team try the same approach in Ruston on Saturday. Just go easy early, play as if in slow motion, be lethargic, rest players.
What could go wrong?

Well those 2 players were on our roster. One went off the reservation and the other got denied eligibility by the NCAA. That's what I was referring too. And you can say its a wide margin gap, but we've lost to those teams by a total of 9 points with essentially 6 warm bodies.

There is a MASSIVE gap between the top three and the rest of us. Stop it. The sooner you can accept that, the healthier.
Best to laugh it off than stay down in the muck and mire.

WKU is better than their record for sure. 4th best team in the conference IMO. I had a really fun time at the game. That was an old school slug fest of a college basketball game. Very intense. Even though WKU has a mediocre record, I know they’re better than that and that was a really tough win to get on the road.
Sharpe is not good.
Stansbury must not be a very good coach. He is a whiny SOB on the sidelines.

I dont mean that necessarily as a dig against Southern Miss or any team in CUSA. It's just the system that sucks that rewards the middling P5s and forces the rest of us to be nearly perfect or we we get kicked out of contention for the Dance.

I’m sure the fans were 100% classy towards UAB the entire game. It’s a hostile road environment, that’s the type of stuff that happens.
