RE: Week 13 (Week 6 in conference) Belt basketball (Mon Jan 31- Sun Feb 6)
Any game we play is a ugly game. Troy made the clutch shots when they needed them and as usual scoring is not one of our strengths. One thing we continue to be good at though is turning the ball over

After an absolute abysmal first half we score 50 in the second half to win 70-61. No quit in this team.

App had 8 points after the first 10 minutes and was winning.
Then had 20 at half and was losing by double digits.
Then scored 50 in the second half and won by 9.
First App win ever at UTA and salvaged the weekend.
Now four straight at home.

Interesting battles next few weeks:
AState at Troy next week
Troy at App the following week
AState at Texas State same week
App at AState to close the season
Those 3 teams are all tied with 3 league losses. App has tiebreaker by having fewest games canceled at this point.

Your tiebreaker is truly fewest canceled games at this point. Only AState and Texas State have played the same number of league games of the 4. If there's a tie on losses, and App is involved, App wins because they had fewer games against teams with Covid outbreaks.
In theory, there won't be a tie, its impossible, but I'm not considering # of wins at this point, only # of league losses.

Seeding is going to be determined by winning percentage.

Not to be left out but our women beat South Alabama 84-52 infront of a record 2,724 crowd
They improve to 17-7

Several players injured and out for season, enough losses that a tourney invite is not likely.
Play the freshmen!
JMU lost to Hofstra in OT. Hofstra's likely CPOY had a game and then some

No, the tiebreaker is number of wins when we have equal number of losses. Your statement is only logical if you can assume those cancelled games would be guaranteed wins, which obviously isn't the case.

Which is the point. If you have two teams with the same # of losses, the team who gets the higher seed is the team with more wins, giving them a higher win percentage.
App has a huge advantage because no one has canceled on them to this point.

Arkansas State is losing 1/3 of their games, so those 3 extra games would put you at 8-4 compared to App at 9-3. Math really isn't as hard as you're making it.

While App certainly earned, this has been the story of our conference season. We literally are the team that can beat anyone, or get beaten by anyone. Our team seems to struggle with the idea that playing good basketball for 20 or 30 minutes isn’t enough.

We have also had more chances to lose by not having games cancelled.

Admittedly I'm just annoyed we lost our games with UALR to covid of all teams.

If we don't play UALR going forward I will be very disappointed.

You guys are (hopefully) gaining a close OOC opponent in Little Rock. As much as I’m glad Southern Miss and South Alabama will be in the same league together, it means we’re both losing a close OOC opponent in each other for Olympic sports.

Neither school has committed to continuing the series after this season. I expect it will continue, but its not for certain...
