SMU right now is best bet for second bid, unless someone beats Houston in tourney

ucf, cincy, memphis, wichita-- all came in with a pretty simple objective after non con--- beat a bunch of not great aac teams and you are likely a tourney team.....literally, all of them failed

ucf next 4 games...

vs houston
vs usf (who blew them out)
@ memphis
vs wichita

these 4 games are the defining stretch for ucfs season... they need to be 4-0, or they are prepping for the aac tourney the rest of the way

We could just as easily go 1-3 or 0-4

Don’t think you will lose to USF at home, we are horrific and worse on the road.

If we start 1-17 like we did against Wichita we certainly can. At our best we’re a tourney team (on the rare occasion we play like it), and at our worst we’re the worst team in the conference. Never underestimate our ability to suck lol

It's odd that Tulsa nearly knocked off UH earlier this year. Feels like the thing just went off the rails.

Tulane are also making absolutely everything. The problem here isn't this game - it's being winless in AAC play at 6-12. This feels like the Dunleavy year.

Oh don’t worry, they won’t finish winless, they play us.

Tulane jacking up 3s when they're up by 31 points with 2 minutes left is a choice. Tulsa gonna come back one day and bite us real hard for this one.

The final score is 97-63 Tulane.

Next up is WSU at home. After that, the conference schedule gets really ugly (here come the losses).

temple, tulane and ecu are really interesting in having competitive teams with young stars

every key tulane players has atleast 2 years of eligibility beyond this year,
most temple players are covid freshmen, who will have 3 years beyond this year, every guard has atleast 2 years- enitre roster has eligibility
ecu has to replace vance jackson beyond that- most notable playrs return

all should be competitive next year, but as is arent tourney teams.... will be curious the offseason moves of those 3 teams ... they are 1 02 major offseason moved from major postseason

-- Wichita fits perfectly into this conversation, but i dont want to be attacked grouping wichita with team

-- similar arguments for Memphis could be made (no seniors) but its an almost guarantee that memphis roster implodes in the offseason

Most of us hope so. I'm guessing the wrong ones stay.

We need Dayton to keep winning and hope they win the Atlantic 10 regular season title. They lost 2 league games by 1 point each. Also, this conference is bad enough this season that SMU may just be able to win enough games to get us back on the right side of the bubble.

Battle- SO
Strickland- SO
Dunn- FR
White- FR
Miller- FR
Jourdain- FR
Hicks- FR
Williams- FR

8 of our top 10 are underclassmen. If we can replace Tolbert and Forrester with better quality bigs, we're in a pretty good spot.

With the transfer portal, it's really hard to even remotely guess what youngsters will be around on these teams next year.

Happy Wichita got a win tonight against a good UCF team. Probably the only team we're leaving behind that I'll actually miss playing.

I'd re-read that.

Meh. Florida.

SMU next four:

Temple
Hitachi
@Hitachi
Houston

Back to backs are tough to sweep. But if we happen to roll into that 2/9 date with Houston at Moody with no more losses that’ll be “season-to-date” defining for the Ponies.

Houston continues to amaze given their injuries but eventually they’ll get a bit tired.

Best shot right now at a two bid league but I also think Houston’s vulnerable on the third day of the AAC tourney.

We shall see.
