Maybe I have a preconceived notion, but the military schools play hard. They don't always get the talent, but they always give great effort and I like when they come to Johnson City. It should be a good game to watch just for the effort.

We are not boxing out like we should so far.

We are playing terrible, nothing I am seeing about the Citadel is saying they are good, They look bad, we just look way worse.

Agreed.

Bucs disjointed, helter-skelter, too much 1-on-1, no apparent plays, screwed up an inbounds play (you could see that coming), very poor poise, etc., etc., etc.
Where is that team ball they played recently?

Yes one of our games where we come out playing horribly and make the other team look great. We have time to correct it I hope.

Well they seemed to have woken up, now just come out in 2nd half and keep that up.

They have to figure out this switching on defense, Sloan is getting hung out to dry trying to guard the post.

This is embarrassing, period, even if they somehow pull this out in the end.

Not ready, came out and I guess expected to win, never got clued in they actually had
to play to win.

Yeah, I am done for now, The Citadel looked like a bunch of dudes from 2A High school in SW Virginia, Oliver needs to chew somebody's ass and if I were Carter I would have a talk with Oliver, you can't lose that game at home.

Citadel is SOOO much more disciplined, poised, and runs great sets - over and over again. Some of it is the military aspect, sure, but it's more than that. This ETSU team just doesn't play good team ball; at least not consistently. A sad and frustrating thing to watch unfold.

P.S. -- there goes our 15 seed.

That stung a little. Have to win games like that at home. #33 ate us alive. Yes, LA’s missed dunk was a bad omen.

Missed dunk and missed 3 pointer after a steal hurt us . Uncharacteristic by those players .

Boy that one announcer down the stretch was not keeping up with the game. He thought they were in the bonus one foul before , and thought the last 3 pointer was for the tie.

They got cocky on a 2 game win streak and figured Citadel would be a stat padder, (which it should be) but you still have to put in the work. One thing the military schools do is put in the work, they might be outmanned but they are going to fight.
Out coached for sure. This is where Oliver needed to step up and wake them up.
Show some fire.

Just not a good team. Thought Asheville and A&T were bad losses.......sheesh!

[Out played and out coached all over the court. No excuse for playing down to a team like that. Now our true goal is for 3 games in March instead of 4. Playing like that will get us into the bottom four and we deserve it.[/align]

THIS is what has frustrated me about this team the past two seasons. The team seemingly has no idea what we are doing on any given possession. Even when the shots go down, it’s bad offense. Defensively we play hard but sometimes don’t seem to be on the same page, and are mismatched down low.
