I think the really high point you are referring to is further west on I-10 in Lake Charles. To this day I still give the steering wheel the 10-2 death grip when going over it that bridge.

That maybe it.

I remember driving to Galveston back in 2006. I just had bought a 3/4 ton diesel truck and took it over to some docks to move a vehicle for my dad who was offshore working. And going over that bridge in that beast was a blast. The passengers in my truck didn't care for it, 03-lmfao

ETA.. Googled, saw photos, and yep that's it.
I hate that bridge! It is one of the most structurally unsound bridges in North America!

And how! Imagine how scary it is under normal condition….I had to cross it in a big ice storm we had several years ago. One of the scariest moments in my life. I really really wanted to get home. Took me almost 12 hours to get from Houston to Lafayette….normally takes ~4.
Bro…I may have taken the 210 loop for that one!

Lol…once we crossed the bridge we had to. I-10 was closed all through downtown, we couldn’t get back on until the 210 merge. Big portions of I10 from Houston to LFT we’re closed. We kept having to exit and then get back on again. A very rough day! My rental was covered in ice by the time I got back home. Think that was in 2016-ish.

USM baseball played in the McNeese baseball tournament a few years back and the determining factor of me going or not was if the campus was on this side or the other side of the bridge. I made the trip and saw USM win 3 of 4 02-13-banana

For future reference the 210 loop will take you around that bridge and back on I-10…roughly a 8-10 minute detour.
