Wiard had a really bad game. Wonder if she was not feeling well. She was on the bench at the end of the game. Would think Cullop would want her point guard who shoots 85% of her free throws out there at that time.

Any win on the road in the MAC is a great win but IMO the better team tonight didn't win the game. We will take our 7-0 and head into a tough stretch of Buffalo, Ohio and BGSU which will tell us a lot about this team.

Gotta disagree big time. When the home team runs up a big lead and the visitors come back, take a lead and get huge defensive stops at game’s end, well, that’s the better team. Tough game, tough opponent but we did what was needed.

RPI has us at 57 and predicted to go undefeated in the MAC ending 45th. 20-0 would be insane.

We will face another zone defense against Buffalo on Saturday. We will need to execute better, as I doubt we will hold Buffalo to 55 points.

We couldn't possibly shoot 3's worse.

Way too soon still to be talking about a season like that, especially since they haven't played UB, OU or BG yet.

The thing that I notice is that they are 7-0, and still I don't think have played a really complete game. Seems like every game they have had one or two major contributors have bad games. Survived when Wiard couldn't play, or was a non-factor on offense. Survived when Q couldn't buy a bucket. Survived when Jansen was a non-factor on offense. Survived when Cook didn't really contribute at all. Still haven't gotten any production from Barnes and still have survived. I think about what could happen if everyone brings their A-game on the same night. Let's hope that happens - precisely at MAC tourney time.

The one constant has been the defense, which is Cullop's signature. Just goes to show, if you play great D every night, you can hide a lot of flaws on offense. Defense is definitely going to be tested the next three games for sure, and even against Miami after that.

Let's hope the coaches have been studying the Buffalo-Princeton tape. Princeton picked apart the Buffalo zone with precision. UT is not yet a great Xs and Os team with precision passing, but hopefully the assistants can at least pick up a few things to help.

Depth for UT is another big advantage against UB. Announcers at their games have said they only have 8 active healthy players right now, and have basically only been playing 6. McEvans has been hurt, and reportedly Young has taken a break from the team for personal reasons. Gaba has been out all year with an injury. Young and Gaba would be starters, and McEvans 1st off the bench, so those are significant losses. Don't know what's up with the other 4 players not being available.

Also they will have already played 2 games this week, so perhaps UT's depth can help tire them out. If UT's inside game can get UB players in foul trouble, that would be even better.

Fair and Hemphill are outstanding players no doubt, but the player who has kept them on top so far this year with all the other injuries is the Aussie freshman Wooley. She's been averaging double figures in MAC play and is a pure, volume 3 point shooter. I heard it reported that she was not highly recruited, despite having ridiculous numbers coming out of high school (43 points, 19 rebounds, 90% FT shooting.)

Just noticed that Toledo snuck into the Mid-Major top 25 this week, at number 25. MAC teams:

14 Buffalo
25 Toledo
26 Kent
29 Ohio
31 BG

UT's NET ranking is also now up to 63. (Buffalo is 56.) A win over Buffalo would be huge to putting UT on the map. Gonna be a really tough game.
