Buying out the MEAC would be a PR disaster. I don't think anyone wants that.

Trustees don't touch athletic movements, only major things like when they banned athletics scholarships. When UB was invited to the MAC it was up to its UB Council vote, and input from the Faculty Senate, which is just a recommendation, no formal power. So we'll have to see how it was decided by within SBU.

Will anyone care if they are already dead?

If the CAA jumps out to 14 or 16 that would cause sufficient chaos to force someone from the MEAC to flinch and jump to somewhere safer that suddenly had a need for members.

If the MEAC falls to say 4 members and can’t rebuild the CAA steps in with some cash and plays the hero that gave those schools a golden parachute into D2/independence.

One bid conferences are idiotic to go above 12.

Nobody wants the MEAC schools in the first place. It seems the OVC or Big South could be picked apart.

Supposedly Stony Brook will make the announcement on Tuesday according to somebody I cannot verify is connected to SB athletics said today. I won't link it because I don't trust it that much.

A journalist, Roger Rubin, said a couple days ago the announcement is likely next week.
https://www.newsday.com/sports/college/s...1.50481959

This is similar to reports that Hampton is announcing next week.

Could be a very busy Tuesday, as rumors of the incoming schools to the SBC may announce they'll start in 2022 rather than 2023.

Also on Tuesday my house is being fumigated. Termites getting terminated. It was the most expensive can of paint I ever bought for the guest bathroom (how I discovered the problem). So I'm probably going to miss it all, as the wife and I will be out of town hiking in the hills and visiting wineries (yes, life is hard in California, but I just have to suck it up 04-drinky 04-wine 03-nerner ).

Sorry to here about your termites—I’m sincerely concerned for the Stanford tree. Please tell me you haven’t gone to the farm in Palo Alto.

Yes, Stugray’s termites are the Tower of London ravens of collegiate athletics—if the termites are removed the NCAA will collapse.

Interesting. I would take unknown Twitter info with a grain of salt. Also I wonder if AE will place post season ban on us like CAA did to JMU and previously to VCU, GMU etc. Our women’s bball has legit chance to make the tourney, currency top of standing. And our women’s lacrosse will start the season ranked 5th, and has not lost a conference game last 8 year!!! It will be devastating to them if banned.

I thought Hofstra supposedly held some extra-special SuperVeto to block all this.

Today at 10:30 am, it will become official, looks like.

Because it's Tuesday. Everyone's favorite day to move.

But how does the bathroom look? 04-cheers

Also, the SBC announcement is getting pushed back by about a week.
