Looks like it is set for CINCINNATI, Central Florida, Houston, and BYU to join in 2023.

RE: Big XII plans for 2, 7 team divisions
2023 Confirmed! That's awesome!

Dillon Gabriel (OU) vs UCF is a potential conference game now.

It's going to be great to have Texas and OU with Cincy, UCF, Houston and BYU. 2023 and 2024 will be glorious seasons.

Quote:... Stewart said a decision has not been made whether to separate the divisions competitively or geographically...

... One person involved in the process said it would be "easier if we don't reshuffle the deck" in 2026. By placing Texas and Oklahoma in opposite divisions beginning in 2023, that would allow the Big 12 to conceivably stay with the same composition of two six-team divisions moving forward in 2026 without the 'Horns and Sooners.

One working group member joked that Texas and Oklahoma should be placed in the same division to ensure that at least one of the programs wouldn't play for the football championship...

The divisions will be interesting, I think I'd prefer Texas and OU to be split to keep the divisions consistent when they leave

Yep, although the North has OU and Ok State, along with Cincinnati and Iowa State, so it’s not exactly an easy out either

Splitting Texas and OU, guarantees everyone a home games versus Texas or OU in either 2023 or 2024.

I have a hard time believing they'd separate West Virginia and Cincinnati. If they want to avoid shuffling the divisions again in 2025 it should be East-West:

Cincinnati
Iowa State
KU
Kansas State
Oklahoma
UCF
West Virginia

Baylor
BYU
Houston
Oklahoma State
TCU
Texas
Tech

Sweet! If both OU and the Orangebloods stay until at least 2025, we get to actually play them for a couple seasons! Sign me up now!

I think is really good if they can keep OK and TX until 2025, and have new schools for 2023.

Is there any situation where Oklahoma and Texas say never mind and stay, or the deal done with no way out?

I actually kind of prefer that they leave, just as a viewer. I could just foresee them getting offended, when everyone isn't bending over backwards for them.

I do too. The only teams close to Cincinnati and West Virginia are Cincinnati and West Virginia. So they split them up. lol

East Cincy, WV, UCF, UH,Baylor, Iowa state and for 2 yrs TX.

West, Byu, Ok state, TT, TCU, Kansas, K State. and 2 yrs OK.

Work schedule out so TX and OK play each other as well as OK OKstate for next 2 years.

RE: Big XII plans for 2, 7 team divisions
1. Split Texas and OU into 2 separate divisions
This guarantees the new members a home game vs Oklahoma or Texas in either 2023 or 2024. The home game revenue is important for building those brands up.

2. Split the new members evenly
Each division should have an equal split of traditional members and new members. If one division is loaded with new members, it won't feel like you joined the Big12. The new members vs traditional member matchups will be more interesting anyways.

As long as the new divisions follow those 2 rules, I am happy with whatever variation you come up with.

3. (Optional) Protected Cross-Division game, this way we can have 2 teams in a different divisions but protect a potential rivalry. So Texas/OU can be protected because that's what the network wants. If WVU and Cincy are in different divisions, its no problem because it can be a protected cross division rivalry.

Boise or Col State would work well. On a Map Colorado State fits perfect.

Barf. I don't care how well they run the Statue of Liberty play. They're the epitome of bloated community colleges.

I agree, they also don’t have a good recruiting area, don’t bring a valuable market, and are very far away. I think they’re on the decline.

that proposed division is ridiculous: the south has rhe best recruiting ground in Texas and Florida; the north has what?

i agree with this and would add:

4. Equivalent recruiting ground for both divisions.
