KSU used a very good athlete, Sincere Carry to play him exclusively, in essence, the "box and one" defense. Both approaches worked and we had no answer. Monte was not there last night and McBride missed at least four absolutely uncontested threes that should have penalized Kent for their strategy.
Heath needs to make an adjustment to his offense if he wants to win conference games this year.
Personally, I see little reason for panic. We suck, but we suck less than our Michigan counterparts and we are starting THREE freshmen, with some prospects on the bench. Stan gets a pass for this year from me with his inevitable losing MAC record, but I expect much better in the future. I think we will.
I suggest coaches playing EMU review games films of the Ball St Kent St and the matchup zone from Northern Kentucky. The secret is to defensively pinch Noah and also put pressure on EMU ie full court press and control EMU's offensive tempo with the full court press and taking as much time of the shot clock offensively.

The main problem we have is that we haven't had a floor captain since Carlos Medlock. We just have players running around doing their own thing.

Yes EMU79 - you’re on the money. Without Monty, if the opponent doubles Noah there’s really no other shooter to beat them from outside. Binelli - sporadic, Spottsville can’t shoot, and Brice is streaky. If Luka was ready, this team would be dangerous along with Noah and Monty. We need to keep improving…I have a hunch we win tonight.
