"How about J T Shumate?"
Shumate, Milner and Dennis are all Rocket starters who started their college basketball careers somwhere else. Over the years there's been a couple tranfers that didn't work out but for the most part Kowalczyk has an excellent track record with players he has brought in from other programs. With Shumates success, and the changes in transfer rules, TK is obviously looking to DII for some recruits.

TK 1/15/22 in post game interviews after beating bugs – on the radio he said -

“Disappointed we didn’t get a hundred… How about JT Shumate? Hey, you know what, to all Div II guys like myself, most Div I guys don’t have respect for Div II guys. I’m a head coach that’s got an unbelievable amount of respect and I want another guy like JT. I want to coach him next year and some more guys coming in.”

And then he added on the video post game –

“I played Div II basketball. I love JT Shumate he’s a really good player. I’d like to have more of them. I want more of them and we’ll have more.”

Hmm, I have no inside source this is only my own dumb speculation but a couple DII players for Rocket fans to keep an eye on -

Patrick Cartier Hillsdale College Jr F 6’8 220 from Brookfield WI - would he like to finish his college career playing his Sr year in Div I?

Philip Alston Soph Cal U Pennsylvania 6’6 225 from Columbus followed on Twitter by Jay Shumate and Walter Offutt
