Because most of us aren't in our 20s :)

Pretty much. 04-cheers

I have a twitter and instagram but rarely use them. I have flirted with the idea of dumping my Facebook but I just have so many family on it and that's the easiest way to stay up with everyone.

Just a heads up, a lot of the people in that FB Group are not as knowledgeable as the people on this board. So you get a lot of dumb posts on there.

Just a quick update to this thread. I believe the Sun Belt page is now up to 10K members and still growing. The excitement for this league is really starting to gain some steam. CUSA’s actions have only poured gasoline on the fire, because they are basically giving the SB3 and the SBC free positive publicity.

Good question, I first joined it as a college freshman and it was great for keeping up with old high school friends and new college friends, but by the time I had graduated "old people" had discovered it and it definitely lost its luster after people started to have to censor themselves from their older relatives. It definitely seems like its much less about keeping up with people, I'm not even sure how to describe what role it currently plays. Marketplace is cool though.

Good group. Though to keep themselves from getting into trouble, might be a good idea to put the word "unofficial" in the title.

I muted it. I chime in randomly to do some talk down your nose smack with JMU fans but nobody ever bites. The only stuff that gets a response is the smack thats low brow or name calling/venomous. Oh well. Guess that's where all the townie fans go. :)

We have young kids. Haven’t paid full price for a kids toy or thing (hiking backpacks, bike trailer etc) thanks to marketplace. Most of the stuff we get is barely used or brand new.

My answer is I've been at the "social media" stuff since the early 90s on bbs, efnet and irc. I was on friendster and my MySpace uid was in the 5 digits. Facebook since it was for college students only and that's the last one I want to f with at this point. Between that, my entire family still uses it to keep in touch, and Twitter for consuming I don't want to hop to what's next. I have a Instagram acct but don't use it. When my kids get older I'm sure I'll spin up accts on whatever platforms are active at the time to keep up. Otherwise I think I'm just complacent.

I signed up for it years ago. Don't really use it outside of the groups feature, and trolling the comments on news sites for amusement.

I signed up back when you still had to have a college email address. I've just stuck with it because most of my friends and family are still on it and easy to keep in touch. I figure soon as my kids are older I'll spin up accounts on whatever social media platform is the new hotness then.

Hah, that reminds me. I had created a public event for the big solar eclipse we had on the east coast way back in like 2007 or 2008. Back then you could only make an event with a date up to 3 years out. So I kept updating the year every 3 years. I had originally sent to family members and a couple friends. They were like you're freakn nuts, that's like a decade away?! Eventually hundreds of people had been forwarded it.

Nice! I was so glad my kids and family got to see the last one. I called my cousins in Greer, SC a month or 2 prior and said we're coming to visit. They were like uhh ok. We had absolutely perfect viewing conditions.

Funny to see this thread pop back up and see this post. I don't use Facebook but I've had a couple different people ask me if I'm in that group and then go on about how obnoxious Marshall fans are 03-lmfao I've told them that group pretty much sounds like the opposite of this message board.
