I recall them being larger than App 20 years ago (12,500 in 2000).
Fall of 2020 Marshall's enrollment was 11,962.
Fall of 2015 Marshall's enrollment was 13,321.
More kids deciding to leave the state? Seems enrollments grew during that time.
I personally think they're marketing is geared toward out of state kids. I live 12 miles from Marshall and both my wife and I graduated from Marshall. Not once did we receive any brochures or letters addressed to our daughter her entire time she was in High School. We got letters every week from WVwho though.

I am shocked that Marhsall is that size - i would have guessed double. Makes the success and notoriety that much more impressive

what are these numbers based on..UTA has around 45,000..wiki shows UTA with 28,000+ undergrads and 15,000+ post grad students. I was at the most recent graduation and there were over 5300 graduating so your numbers seem low

Maybe they were just counting the UT Arlington nursing school. 19K would be about right. So much for "Equity in Athletics." Garbage in - garbage out.

It's just full-time undergrads. Doesn't include part-timers, grad or dual enrollment students.

All I did was compile our teams together
It's pretty wild that Georgia Southern absorbed another state university with 6,500 students that's an hour away. Didn't realize that. I don't think I've ever heard of that happening.
The University System of Georgia went on a consolidation spree.
That’s something that is really needed in Louisiana.
Who would absorb who in Louisiana??? Grambling absorbs LaTech, after that what makes sense?
LTU absorbs LSU-Shreveport
Louisiana absorbs LSU-Alexandria and LSU-Eunice (McNeese should but wont happen)
Southern or UNO absorbs Southern U - New Orleans

Very interesting. Nice work. Did you see that on a site? If so, link as I’d like to see other conferences and averages. If you created that yourself, nice job!

We weren’t too excited about it. I believe we some how absorbed their debt through this merger.
