I love the board tradition of using Hurons for every EMU game. We've done a great job not straying from that over the years.

I think the whole country is doing that now. It’s become a Huron Nation.

From the way I heard it from an EMU alum. When the pressure came to change the name, it was applied to both EMU and CMU. EMU got ahead of it and announced they were changing their name to Eagles. The alumni wasn't thrilled with it but figured...eh...what can you do?

Then CMU announced they were changing their logo to eliminate the Indian and just have the letters but they weren't going to change the name.

The EMU fans were all....wait....that was an option????

Definitely not the same experts who picked the football team to finish last.

They also had a knack for coming back from deficits (especially at home, as you mentioned). Say what you (obviously not you dc1) will but Monty's teams played hard. Effort was not why they often weren't very good.

However...

Monty's team most likely wouldn't have had Keshawn Williams. But it would probably still have Beane and Cochran, which...might be a wash.

As much as I have a strong disdain for Crump, I do kinda like how Burno has been using him lately (more as a swingman/inside player) even using him as the tallest guy on the floor (for the Huskies) at times.

I think it limits his chances (in other words, I don't see him trying to create plays as much) and allows him to do things (like rebound) where he can use his height and athleticism to his advantage. He's not super strong (but he did get stronger in this offseason) but he's way more athletic than most post players and with as long as he is, he can out-jump them. He's got confidence and he's really athletic and I think Burno might be using him the best way possible.
it seems coach Burno can put a player in a better position to succeed vs Monty. Crump scared me before but now he looks much better. This team still has flaws but IMHO coach Burno is stronger at helping players get in positions to succeed which will equate to more success in the future. Unlike Monty who would peak with some upset wins then slide back. Just my simple low level basketball opinion

So Burno is Monty II! No difference. Thanks for your input.
Huskies have already exceeded my expectations this season.
This is basically the same team we had last year that went 3-16, except we lost our leading scorer, rebounder, and 3pt shooter. Which freshman/transfer is the difference maker this year? Osten!
I reserved judgement on Hammock even after going 0-6 last season. He proved himself this season. That Burno isn't publicly berating and screaming at his players like Monty is nearly enough improvement for me.
