Either way our fans are getting a good deal.

I would think you'll need to be in the 4000 per game range for the top 10. The last non Covid year Louisiana was about 4500 at #9 and the #10 was over 3900.

Right now what we've surpassed is the normal season ticket holders. That's the Hattiesburg locals and alumni who live nearby.. This is not counting students who'll be there because it's easy to access the stadium from the campus or the random fan who happens to be in town (whether they're a fan of USM or just baseball in general) nor the opposing team.

I love the optimism but top 10 is a stretch IMO. Top 15 is more likely considering the usuals will be there.....
Arkansas
Ole Miss
Miss State
LSU
Texas A&M
South Carolina
FSU
Clemson
Texas

then non P5 schools that usually are ahead of us
ECU
Louisiana

And i'm sure there's several more I unintentionally overlooked but quite a few schools (USM included) didn't report attendance numbers last year due to limited capacity restrictions.

USM baseball season ticket holders please message me if any of y'all ever want to sell your Saturday tickets this season. If I don't have events for my kids I want to attend a couple/few this year.

No, I just Googled baseball attendance numbers and found both of these. I will see if the NCAA has some kind of website that captures the numbers.

Baseball Attendance Numbers

They don't have 2020 or 2021 I guess because of Covid.

We've ranked attendance wise
2019 16
2018 15
2017 16
2016 18
2015 25

Yeah, I didn't even search for 2020 and 2021 as that wouldn't really be a good illustration of attendance numbers due to covid.

Using a data set from 2015 to 2019 my trend line extrapolation predicts
an attendance of 4443.8 per game

y=228.4x-457381
4443.8=228.4(2022)-457381

It will be interesting to see how this holds up due to Covid influences they may still not report the numbers.

2015 2,709
2016 3,126
2017 3,369
2018 3,786
2019 3,521
2022 non covid estimate 4,444

Nice! See you guys down there in a few weeks for a little SBC preview. It’s going to be fun going round and round with you guys every year.

Looks like we'll give each other an attendance boost.

We're at 4,742 for 2022. Which puts us at number 10 on average attendance.

This number should increase given our remaining home games left.

We have 7 home games left and looking at those we should improve our numbers to to about 4,780 on average.

We need to be averaging about 7,000 to 8,000 to move into top 5 attendance territory.

And if we have an attendance of 10,300 we'd be number one in the nation.

I think next year we could be over 5,000 average with some boost from USA and Louisiana if we have both at home which probably won't happen.

However, ULM, Troy, and GSU might send some fans our way when we have home games.

Top Attendance for Sunbelt teams this year is

4,131 Louisiana
1,878 Ga. Southern
1,803 Troy
1,483 Coastal Carolina
1,253 Texas St.
1,246 South Alabama
1,055 ULM

CUSA is

4,742 Southern Miss.
2,359 Louisiana Tech

We are definitely moving to a better Baseball fan friendly conference. 05-mafia

Next year our attendance should get a Sunbelt boost. Where do ya'll hold your championship tournament?

Montgomery at their AA ball park. Second year of a five year agreement.

Hey, we're #3 in percent of capacity at 110.27.

Texas A&M Corpus Christi is #1 in that regard, averaging 638 fans in a stadium that only holds 500.

Montgomery sent me a ticket with a link to a video of me turning left right as it turned red. I avoid Montgomery if at all possible.

If we're gonna have it on a neutral site I'd prefer Pensacola or New Orleans.

The cameras there are baaad... But I was lucky and never got caught when I lived in Prattville. We had a camera at the road our office was on.. I can't count how many times coming back from lunch I'd see it flash.. Same token, drivers in Montgomery are horrendous and can't count how many times I saw a wreck at that intersection.

This has been years ago, like 15-20 years, but at one time Mobile had 7 of the top 10 deadliest intersections in Alabama. 5 of the 7 were intersections with Airport Boulevard. Now when the cross traffic light turns red there’s a longer delay before your light turns green.

Can’t really do New Orleans anymore. The Shrine on Airline was converted into a rugby pitch for their Major League Rugby team.

Blue Wahoo Stadium in Pensacola, The Rocket Pandas stadium in Madison, AL, or MGM Park in Biloxi would be good sites.

Not sure if there is a good minor league park in Atlanta, but that wouldn’t be bad either.
