RE: CUSA Basketball - Week 3 of Conference Play
In all my years watching D1 hoops, I’ve never seen a coach whine and moan on EVERY single call like Scott Pera. He had at least one official by the ear at every single timeout and almost never went to his huddle. Needs to spend more time coaching his team and he may get a better result on the floor. Tops with a monster second half that made the win feel like cruise control for the final 13 minutes. On to Saturday and hopefully a little revenge against the mean green.

Good job WKU rising to the occasion and playing like a top four seed.

Fair warning to Marshall now, you’re on the clock.

Rice will respond to this epic collapse, and Marshall is in the line of fire.

Not sure I would call it a collapse. Rice hit 6 threes in the first 12 minutes of the game and led by 13. From that point on they hit 2 threes and were out scored 64-38 for the final 28 minutes of the game. It was 1/4 of a games worth good ball from Rice and the remaining 3/4's was total domination by the Tops. Epic collapse? Nah, that's what we did in Ruston on New Years Day (still stings).

Pera did the same thing against North Texas when we beat em by 30. Coach your team and stop throwing a hissy fit every two seconds

Big gameday today for the Mean Green! I don't care what Western's NET is, they are going to be crazy tough at home.

May both teams stay injury and virus free.

Oh definitely. Trust me, we know how it feels. We did it in Bowling Green a couple years ago. 17 point leads aren’t safe in this series lol

Charlotte is way playing down to the opponent. This should be a blowout already.

Great game in Diddle. North Texas is 7-15 from three and getting every call to lead 37-30 at the half. WKU is 0-4 from deep. If they hit another 7 in the second half they will win. Have a feeling they will come back down to earth in a big way but looking forward to a battle in the second half. Mean green play some mean D.

Definitely a great game between the Green and the Toppers. It feels like McKnight has made every single shot he has taken. Thankfully the Mean Green are responding with 3's.

I imagine UNT will need this 7 point lead in the 2nd half as I'm sure WKU will make a run at some point and North Texas is going to have to weather the storm.

UNT hasn't been to the foul line once. The Mean Green aren't getting every call, they are just playing tough defense, which is their game. Will WKU come out and defend the 3 point line in the second half?

Should have said 50/50 call. And I will agree, more effort gets you those and UNT is bringing the effort.

Stanz 3pt defense has to the worst in the country. Team consistently torch us from three. Some things never change. 03-banghead

Tops pick a bad time to drop their worst performance of the year. Hit 2 three’s and fall 65-60 at home. North Texas plays an ugly physical style of basketball, but it is effective. Like watching paint dry. They play the slowest pace in college ball and that was no exception today. Every game is a root canal. McCasland has owned Stans and continued that today. UNT is tough, gritty, and plays together. Most of the time that’s enough to get you over the line. Combine that with an unlikely 3 point shooting performance and we were sunk. Back to the drawing board for the tops.

Good game Western fans, as always. I've said it before but this is the game I will miss most after realignment. I have looked forward to our hoops games every year since I was a student back in the Sun Belt days.
