Bobcat, are the golf teams playing now? I'm looking at their schedules and it looks like they don't start until March. What am I missing?

I'm confused, are they based on basketball games or golf matches? If they are based on golf matches, when are they being played if the season does not start until March.

It’s basketball. It’s a way to show the standings based on home and road performance. A team may be 5-2 and another 4-3, but the 5-2 team may have played 4 home games and the 4-3 team may have played 4 road games. Assuming each won their home games and lost on the road, in the “golf” standings each would be “even par” since you get pars for home wins and road losses. If you win a road game, that’s a birdie (-1), a home loss is a bogey (+1). Teams that cumulatively are “under par” have been winning on the road and not losing at home. Conversely, teams that are over par have been losing at home.

When some teams have played more home or road games, the golf standings show a more realistic picture of the league during the season. By the end of the season when all have played the same number of home and road games, the golf standings will be identical to the regular standings.
