CUSA4.0 Facility Thread
NMSU just announced a respectable facility upgrade that was sorely needed today so I thought I would start a thread to get a feel for what else is going on across CUSA4.0 land. Let's hear it, what facility upgrades does everyone have planned? It will be interesting to see a design once they make it public.

RE: CUSA4.0 Facility Thread
Quote:The WKU Board of Regents gave the green light to four major construction projects during the special budget meeting on Friday.

The projects regents unanimously authorized in their special meeting are:

– A new indoor practice facility for WKU athletics, called Hilltopper Fieldhouse, at up to $35 million.

– Renovating and “reimagining” the iconic Cherry Hall for up to $30 million.

– Renovating the football stadium’s 1960s-era press box for up to $6 million.

– Moving forward with the state-funded new building for the Gordon Ford College of Business, for $74.4 million.

“We have a once-in-a-generation opportunity for the institution,” WKU President Timothy Caboni said. “… “We have the most beautiful campus … in the Commonwealth, and we’re going to continue to maintain that.”

Nice! I know there is a lot of frustration with the TV monies in CUSA, but man, try being an independent. Between whatever the payout is for being a part of a football playoff and anything we get for TV is going to feel like a windfall for NMSU, IMO.

I'm one of the Western fans that believe this version of CUSA will workout for the best. With that a good media deal will come with in the next few years if the conference wins and holds together

You build rivalries on the court and football field. Most fans that complain about not being close dont travel anyways. It helps if you are rivals with your neighbor but beating each other is more important.

In addition to the new indoor practice facility, here is the new facility for WKU softball and soccer that will be paid for mainly by exit fees from the SB3.

Not technically a new facility, however we also just premiered the new Taraflex FIVB portable volleyball court which is the premier playing surface in the sport for WKU's Top 25 volleyball program.

The Pan American Center, where Basketball and Volleyball play is also getting some renovations. It owned and operated by Special Events.

Quote:Although the Pan American Center will benefit athletics, it was not an athletics request since the arena is used for multiple events throughout the year through special events.

The Pan Am improvements are:

$1.2 million to replace retractable seating.
$1.2 million to replace arena seating in the lower bowl.
$900,000 for upper bowl improvements/sound system.

I agree...the next version of CUSA will thrive...getting rid of malcontents like entities that rhyme with "other mess"; "slow mininion" or "herschel".

That looks nice too! Love seeing what other's are doing with their facilities. I won't lie we are, unfortunately, a bit behind others when it comes to some of our facilities (football probably being the biggest). The biggest hindrance to recruiting at NMSU has traditionally been the locker rooms. There was a time when the coaches would avoid the locker room on visits. That has been corrected, for the most part, but the building it is housed in is just old and needs major updates to be able to accommodate an updated locker room to today's standards.

I wish the best for the FIU. What a beautiful campus and great area of the country; it's too bad fan support has been so bad in all sports and student involvement is almost non-existent. I think your new AD will steer things in the right direction.

And…. Thankfully what WKU does is always first class, and blends with the other campus buildings. This will be no different.
