He’s going to win league player of the year running away at this point. Our first win over Texas State in 6 years
Dude don’t even act like we had another player score 20+ today.
I said he had a little help today.
Between him and Sills, we came within 17 points of matching Texas State's total.
Sills helped way more than a little. Without him today, we lose.
Omier will win player of the year going away, but if we win the league, its going to be because of Sills. Last year proved we can win several games on Omier alone, but can't beat the best teams without help.

the good: Eliel Nsoseme is the man. 15 rebounds 19 points. Mostafa had no answer. Panthers collectively outrebounded and outscored Coastal in the paint, which is CCU's bread and butter.
the bad: GSU guards are in a middle of serious shooting slump. not sure mental or physical issue or both.
the ugly: 10% perimeter shooting is puzzling.
Yeah, I'm not sure what it'll take for me to get some confidence back in this team, so I can only imagine that the players are feeling the slump quite profoundly.
I guess we haven't beaten a D1 opponent since winning at High Point in November...?
Law of averages would say that the offensive slump won't last forever...still hate to see it.
Despite the shooting woes at the moment, we're a tough out for anyone. Just not translating to wins yet.

I saw that Little Rock only had 7 regular players dressed and 4 of them fouled out, so there were 2 student managers dressed. They played and held onto the win.

We go to Louisiana and leave 2-0 for the week. I call that a successful trip.

Craziest thing I've ever seen. Our team manager (walk-on) hit a key 3 in the 3rd overtime. I guess anyone can hit a shot. But, then he also had a really nice driving layup that helped seal the win.

RE: Week 11 (Week 4 in conference) Belt basketball Mon Jan 17 thru Sun Jan 23
Remember that 80% of average number of games played rule?
Quote:Seeding in the Sun Belt Championship will be based on overall conference winning percentage. However, teams will be required to play a minimum of 80% of the average number of conference games played in order to use their overall conference winning percentage for seeding in the conference championship. Teams falling below the 80% threshold will be seeded at the bottom of the championship bracket with overall conference winning percentage, among the teams that fall below the threshold, being used to determine their seed for the tournament.
Currently, there's been 38 men's games and 32 women's games. That's an average of 6.33 games per MBB team, and 5.33 games per WBB team.
80% of those would be a minimum threshold 5.067 games for MBB, and 4.267 for WBB.
Currently, teams that fall below 80% include for the men: Arkansas State, Texas State, Little Rock and Georgia State. For the women: Appalachian State, Little Rock, South Alabama and Georgia State.
So both current first place teams (A-State MBB and App State WBB due to tiebreaker), if it ended today, would be regular season conference champions, but would be seeded 9th in the conference tournament.
Please correct me if I'm wrong or am missing something completely.

A-State hasn't been the cause of cancellation for any games so far. I understood that there would be no penalty for the team that was ready to play, but the one who had to cancel. We've lost 4 games that would have likely been wins. It's pretty jacked up. My question is how will they do the tournament? If you can't play it seems like it would have to be a forfeit. It probably should have been like that the entire year.

There's some question if it will count against teams who get games canceled through no fault of their own. in AState's case, all three of our canceled games were outbreaks at opposing teams.

I was at the game. Trust me there were some ‘no-calls’ not called that frustrated a lot of UL players and fans, lol.
The thing at 1/2 happened when Wesley got thrown down right at the buzzer. Lots of smack from Troy directed at the team and at Marlin, but surprisingly he didn’t take the bait. One Troy player had to be ‘held back.’ It happened far from me so not sure what happened, but they did a good review of it all and in the end called double T’s.
Overall a good game, very low-scoring, and it had a great ending. Nice to see the Cajuns pull it together at the end, unlike Thursday.

He’s going to win league player of the year running away at this point. Our first win over Texas State in 6 years
Late in the game. stAte has the ball, inbounding from the corner baseline (tough place for an inbound), up four, five on the shot clock. Omier gets the ball, but misses. Gets his own rebound and dunks it without coming back to the floor.
Up six. Texas State misses. Omier reaches out to keep the ball from going OB and hooks a pass down the court which results in an easy layup.
Ball game.
Dude is not human.

Little Rock’s men and women have both had 4 games canceled. By my calculations there is no way they meet the 80% threshold. Am I figuring that correctly?

It's 80% of games actually played, not 80% of games scheduled. We won't know until right at the end who reaches the threshold and who doesn't.

Okay, I think I was figuring it incorrectly. We can still play 14 games if all goes right the rest of the season. If the league averages 16 games played, our percentage would be 14/16 which would be 87.5%. Even if the average is 17, and we are able to play 14 games we would be okay at 82.35%. We just need to avoid more cancellations, if at all possible.
