gdunn, they aren't a market school, they are a "location" school. Location does not translate into market share, another false narrative that will prove itself out similar to CUSA 3.0's experiment.

Never said that. Said underwater. People were talking money to me and how we can't be fine in the AAC. We are better off than belt schools while in cusa ..

You'll be "fine". The AAC isn't a windfall from a revenue perspective, especially the partial payments for new members. And no matter what conference you're in travel is going to be higher than your peers due to location.

Yet we are still doing better than teams currently in the sun belt in terms of our budget ....

You are the one on the cusa board bragging about the sun belt. That's not exactly showing me you are secure. I'm very happy with going to the AAC . Doesn't really matter what you think honestly

Nothing I said was inaccurate. I know you’re afraid of dissenting thoughts, but it will be ok to stretch yourself for personal growth.

Not at all. I just know your reputation as a stupid troll. You are so confident about the sun belt that you have to go on the cusa and AAC boards to start stuff there ... Says a lot

I won't be on the sun belt board. Enjoy your new conference. I don't care at all about any of the member schools and don't wish them ill will unlike you guys hoping the AAC fails

I'm thrilled with the new AAC and us being there. That's why I'm not going on the sun belt board to tout it. No need to do so if you are secure

Ps:. More like most you said wasn't accurate. I provided factual numbers to show you guys we are all already better off money wise than the sun belt schools. And none leaving for the AAC are underwater. Money is good in Boca. Don't you worry

Too funny. I enjoy factual debates. Some people don’t enjoy those and use terms like trolls as a defense mechanism as an attempt to discredit valid arguments.

I’ve been right about CUSA since 2018. Sorry you’ve been upset by those projections.

Well numbers are factual ... We are doing better in cusa than you guys and others in the belt. So seems you guys would be more reliant on that money than us with the pennies we make in cusa

You do troll and are insecure. It's not a defense mechanism. I don't think you know what that means. It's calling out your insecurities because you feel the need to go to other boards to brag about the sun belt.

If you were secure and happy, you'd have a life and wouldn't need to do that. Yet you are known for doing this on here which is pretty sad

You clearly want others to fail. That's all you. I don't care about the sun belt. I'll watch their top teams face off and ignore the rest. Just like I do with any other g5 conference we arent in

The AAC chose 6 and then the sun belt picked 3 of the 8 left. I'm glad we got in and think we can do very well with all the new exposure.

We still won it 3x more than FAU... Before you start the whole history thing.. Last time USM and FAU played, we were on our 3rd coach for that season and we spanked dat ass.

Bye.
Well we only had football since 2001. Won sun belt as well and a final 4 appearance in fcs

Ancient history isn't really important to what I said on current cusa though. My point stands on southern miss with that

We've played you guys only 3 times. Won 2 of 3.

Yea.. True. Don't deny it.

Remind me when was the last time FAU was ranked in the Top 25 and went to a bowl game... I'll wait.

Must be nice to be a market school and think you're better than anyone.

Result matter sweet heart.
Well you said you were done. Kind of hard to claim we are a market school when we beat you 2 of 3, won the conference you were in twice , and you guys werent really a factor.

But good talk

Yep. I’m done. You beat us 2 of 3. You haven’t ever been ranked. Ranked and gone to a bowl. Last time we went to a bowl so did you. Hell we beat you and stopped you from a bowl game.

But hey we’re dragging you down. Seems like you kept you down.

You can't say you are done repeatedly and then keep going and going and going ..

We played Memphis in a bowl game after that loss. Get your facts straight.

Yes congrats winning 1 of 3. And also on your history. Doesnt really matter now. And enjoy the sun belt.

I'll await another response after you say you are done

CUSA posters have gotten upset about my projections for 3-4 years and labeled me a troll as a defense mechanism. Wanting others to fail versus being able to see through bias and predicting it are very different.

My view of what is happening in college athletics is broader than some and often times see trends before others (or perhaps secure enough to admit it). If you don't care to listen, and only choose to seek discussion which reinforces your bias that's cool. I seek different view points on many subjects, it's fun.

I actually fear what is happening for all of us with the transfer portal and NIL. It will create more volatility within programs and make sustained success more difficult. I hope I'm wrong as the inequality we see in college athletics will only grow if I'm right.

I believe it will cement the success of school who have the money to spend.
You are successful you have more money you buy better athletes. You have more success you earn more money you buy better athletes …….

Year after year much like Hama has done but with money instead of talented coaching

So none of the G5 by definition. The incremental dollars any G5 program believes it has over the others are fractional basis points compared to programs that can and will offer additional “scholarships”.

You are twisting my words now

You sun belt guys were talking down on the AAC contract and trying to say we will be at or below the sun belt soon. All guesses and I doubt it

My point was we are already doing better than the sun belt while in cusa with the money we bring in. I showed that with facts. Therefore you guys are more dependent on that than we are. I think our deal will be good and stay above the belt. It will definitely be better than cusa so that is why we will do well

I never said we were out of this world better like a power 5. I never said we would make the cut if they split off

Again you are on here trying to brag about the sun belt because the non belt guys here don't care about you. You are insecure so you feel the need to tout the league on other boards. Nobody cares

You quoted me in the post before. And then reiterated it in the response to the other guy and talked about money stuff. ..which we talked about in the thread...

UAB always seemed to have out number no matter how bad their season was going and how good our season was going.

Nah, we've ruined a few of their seasons too. That's what makes it a good series :)

Yeah, that’s what makes good rivalries alright. Especially with teams located nearby, and played on a regular basis. It’s what makes college sports so much fun. It’s one reason why the ul fans so excited that you guys will be joining us. Hope it helps with attendance and atmosphere!

...you dang Cajuns messed up our 'Legion Field' win streak last season... 03-weeping But I'm thinking we (UAB) will keep a pretty regular 'intermittent series' with all of y'all, especially USM and UL - heck, La Tech too... I'd dig playing Marshall once in a while as well, but they may shift over to more MAC teams for OOC (maybe... depending on their 'status' with those folks 03-drunk ) but I'm thinking everyone lands on each other's schedule every now and again... 04-cheers

...and I won't bring up the 'first half' of our series history with the GolDurn Eagles... Or with LaTech... 01-lauramac203-drunk
Ha! Yeah that was a good win for us, and a very typical Napier way: so-so in the first half, but wear ‘em down and grind a victory out. I believe that was the game where Chris Smith had a 99 yd run return score?

In any event we’re looking forward to doing even better at your house in 2023. Just wish we could see y’all at CF sooner than 2026.

04-cheers04-cheers04-cheers

ETA: didn’t that end a like 20 win streak at home for y’all?

...yep, y'all made a couple of big plays, and seemed to be a 'step ahead' of us the whole game - thus a pretty frustrating game for us (I'd just as soon get beat by 4-5 TD's as to being JUST out of reach the whole game) - it was actually our LAST game in Legion Field, in 2020... But we had not lost a home game at LF since 'the return' in 2017... so, in our new place, we've lost TWICE as many games (2) than we did in LF from 2017-2020... 03-drunk

There was some talk last year about us playing Tulane at LF as the VISITOR, as they were displaced by hurricane... ? ...and they set up camp in B'ham for a few weeks - they actually played Morgan State at LF, and stomped them ...but they got to return to NOLA for our game with them there... Our new place was 'technically' ready, but the 'grand opening' or whatever was set for a few weeks later (a bad performance in a loss to Liberty... 03-banghead ).

Great to have the H&H with y'all down the road, tho... I made it down to Lafayette back in 1997 for the UAB win over y'all, when we were solely running triple option... it was clicking for us that night - but y'all had a great gameday atmosphere, which I'm sure has just improved over time! See y'all down the road! 04-cheers
