RE: Liberty drops football home-and-home with Miami of Ohio
I understand Liberty wanting to drop the 2023 VA game, but the others weren’t really an issue scheduling wise. But it is what it is. Virginia is a P5, but it isn’t like Alabama or Ohio State was coming to town.

Hopefully JSU will pick up Virginia if Liberty wants out.

The Flames don't need that now. However, I do question the wisdom of cancelling their HOME and HOME series with UVA, the states undisputed #1 university.
UVA, Virginia's #1 University? According to whom?
I'd imagine Virginia Tech would dispute this, especially in football, as average as they've been, they've still beaten UVA.
Leave it to a silly Suckbelter to focus on the stuff that DOESN'T MATTER. The point is, it's very difficult to get one of the state's TWO biggest P5 schools to commit to a Home and home. Dumb butt.
Not in Virginia it isn't. Ask ODU. They play UVA, Virginia Tech, Liberty, and JMU next year.
Virginia schools have no issue playing one another, P5 or otherwise.
ODU gets VT and UVA because of where they are located. Nothing less, nothing more.
It's true, without those games nobody in Tidewater would even know what a Virginia Tech or Virginia is. None of our high school athletes would ever go to ... wait, what were their names again?
And if location is all it is, how come whozit and whatchamacallit have steadfastly refused to play ODU in men's basketball for many years when Tidewater has always been a hot area for high school hoops?

Melatonin, bourbon, not wasting time caring about what some message-board rando thinks. It's not for everyone but it seems to work for me.
