The Big South men's basketball conference season began Wednesday night with two teams winning on the road, as well as new member North Carolina A&T winning its first Big South contest at home. UNC Asheville used a 16-2 run to erase an eight-point deficit for a 60-54 victory at Campbell. Gardner-Webb placed four players in double-figures in its 88-62 win at Charleston Southern. North Carolina A&T held Presbyterian to 33.9 percent from the field in defeating the Blue Hose, 65-57. Longwood downed Pfeiffer in non-conference action, 109-69.
