I do not think we have seen a lot of efforts on a consistent level from this ballclub yet and hopefully we'll continue to see growth throughout the conference season. Thus far, based on the skill level - I am convinced this would be a pretty darn good Southland program. Coach has been quoted as saying they beat SLC teams by 20 and 40 points in closed door scrimmages. Presuming 20 is the leader TAMU-CC and the 40 is Houston Baptist as those were the two teams they scrimmaged against.

Either way, is this a "really good" WAC team? Probably not. They have yet to prove themselves but starting 2-0 with wins over teams that they need to beat and wins they needed to get at home was a good start. This Tarleton, Abilene Christian swing will be fascinating and then they follow it up with at Lamar before hosting Stephen F Austin, New Mexico State and Grand Canyon.

Really think they will be pushed here and I would not be surprised if they were 4-4 when it's all said and done. 5-3 would be pretty good, 6-2 would be great and 7-1 or 8-0 would be astounding.

I still think they are good enough to throw some wrenches if teams aren't careful. I respect them from their SLC time; always played us very hard. I don't see SHSU as a top tourney team, but I see them growing and not to be taken lightly. Who knows, maybe Sam ends up shooting themselves in the foot after-all this season, but I think they could take a game or two beyond what they "should".

Two things, Sam isn't a top tier WAC team, though they can probably beat anybody on a given night. I say this because Lamar should have defeated them as neither team led by more than five points until the final three minutes and Lamar only had eight players dressed for the game with two of their top guards out. While I think Lamar is better than their ranking shows as they have played shorthanded almost all season with multiple injuries, plus illness, I nor probably none of you think Lamar is close to the top either.

This is where I see COVID unfortunately having an impact on seeding and rankings at the end of the season. Obviously, there is an impact as games get rescheduled for later in the season, but there is also an impact when a team has to play shorthanded. Chicago State had to go on the road and play both NMSU and GCU shorthanded. It looks like Lamar, if they can scratch enough guys together, will have to play NMSU shorthanded as well.

It's just so unfortunate, I guess. I want to play everyone at their full strength to get a good gage of where we all are.

GO AGGIES!!!!

This is the sad reality we are living in now. It looks like the Lamar vs NMSU game for Thursday is the latest casualty.

According to an email I received from Lamar they only have seven players available. There wasn't any suggestion why a reschedule wasn't possible.

To compound the situation, one of the seven players has a non-COVID illness, and can't play.

Playing the game would only hurt our NET.

Lamar just needs to cancel the rest of their season.

The good news I see for Lamar is that probably by next week at the latest their Covid problems for this year may be over. It would seem that if virtually everyone has gone through the protocols, with most probably having tested positive they should be clear for the rest of the season

This is what the AD (Moccia) at NMSU eluded to in the coaches show last night. They had 7 players eligible to play, but one of them had a non-covid related issue and was not able to play, which makes it a forfeit (unfortunately).

GO AGGIES!!!

Lumberjacks kicking Wildcat A** right now. I knew that SFA would spend it's time making every preparation it could for tonight and they did. Unless ACU makes the correct adjustments, this is going to be a bad night.

ACU gets the game back within 12 points at the half with our first 3 ptr of the game, but SFA has just dominated every aspect of this game so far.

The Jacks usually don’t shoot this well from 3.
