RE: Men's Basketball Games Week 8 (12/27 Thru 1/2)
Toledo looks great vs WMU. And WMU looks terrible against Toledo. I know WMU is playing without their top guy but they seem pretty direction-less. Got a good post player in Wright but won't feed him. Lack shooters but have no problem jacking up 3s. Program isn't devoid of talent but what they got looks very disconnected.
Miami is gonna be a problem. Veteran team that plays very hard and has a couple of guards that can get points. Won't blow people out but can hang around and beat you if you aren't on top of your game as UB just found out.
I wouldn't write off Kent. They are finally healthy and might be a different team a month from now. They have the pieces and looked solid early.

Toledo is currently on the top of the MAC totem pole. Has best offensive schemes in the MAC. However, Toledo’s lack of depth prevents Toledo from scoring 70-points when one of their players is off shooting the ball.
Western Michigan missing Artis White. Also, Mack Smith missed the last game.
Don’t see KSU being a factor. Carry and Santiago rely on shooting three’s. Neither consistent. KSU also lacks depth.

Saw CMU Miami was postponed but no mention of which side caused the postponement.
Added the remaining betting lines too
Came to the UB/Akron game last minute. Looks like no Mballa or Fagan for the Bulls or Trimble for the Zips

Kent vs. Toledo is THE worst mbb game I have seen in some time. Looks like two 0-13 teams. Annoying ref flow. Kent braggs after every shot. Toledo is feeding off it and doing it back. Very very odd game.

You didn't even mention the worst part of it all. That lady Kent St. fan that does that shrieking yell / cheer about 1,000 times a game. She's been doing that for many years.

Akron got off to a slow start after not playing in over 2 weeks, but they really turned it on after shaking the rust off.

Akron looked great in After the break. Ali Ali really got it going in the second half. Stats were pretty even with two exceptions. Akron out rebounded UB 35 - 26 and they outscored UB at the line 30-11. (Akron 30-40, UB 9-17). Ali alone out scored UB 16-9 at the line on his way to a game high 32 points
Ohio wins at WMU 59-47.
BG Ball St to tip shortly

Buffalo got hosed by the refs. as Akron took 40 foul shots to UB’s 17. Ali averages 4-foul shots per game. Ali took 22 foul shots in this game.

Buffalo needs to learn to defend without fouling. Obviously with MBalla out for Buffalo and Akron without Trimble, Akron game plan was to attack the basket. It's not a hose job when they're legitimate fouls. Probably 10 or so of those free throws were from Buffalo fouling Akron intentionally to extend the game. I bet you didn't even watch the game otherwise you'd know that...

I didn’t. But the numbers were so out of whack.

They committed 27 fouls against Akron. They committed 25 fouls against Miami last game. They need to learn to play more disciplined basketball. It's a big reason why they're currently sitting 0-2 in MAC play.

I looked at UB’s message board and they appear to be furious with the foul-calls against UB as they express that UB was not getting the same calls. Since tgey viewed the game, hope they chime in here. .

As someone who attended the game, but didn’t have a rooting interest one way or the other… I didn’t think anyone “got hosed”.
