And Drexel's next two men's AND women's basketball games have been postponed. Drexel men will not be going to the Carolinas and JMU and Towson WBB will not be heading to Drexel.

Drexel and Towson women will faceoff at the DAC in a reschedule game on Tuesday January 18th.

The CAA announced a new policy toward counting games. Now, if a team has 7 available players and 1 coach, then the game must be played. Now Drexel's men's and women's basketball teams have a lot of players on their rosters. So if their games keep getting postponed, then I guess we should assume that both teams are going through major problems.

The new policy also states that if a game can't be rescheduled, then the team with the infections would have to forfeit. This would be bad for Drexel, but honestly, I'm not sure if the standings really matter right now. As long at the teams don't finish in 8th or 9th place, then they'll be fine as long as they're ready for the tournament.

It's also not totally clear if the pending forfeits will count as actual wins and losses in the overall standings, or just count as phantom wins and losses for the purpose of seeding.

Football and basketball games cancelled around the country. Forfeits are BS. Hope they change that.

i was planning to go down to mount st. mary's to see bashir mason coaching for wagner. of course it is now cancelled like everything else...a day after the nec stuck to their guns to make teams forfeit. if both teams have covid issues...they both forfeit. maybe a smaller league like this doesn't see the feasibility in rescheduling...

it is good the caa put something on paper. it would be helpful to know how much they'll get involved in rescheduling. there are two many scenarios to make things black and white...but leaving it up to the schools doesn't seem like the best idea. somebody could load up on the bottom half of the conference.

the only caveat to feeling they should not forfeit is finding clear evidence something was done within a team that shouldn't have been done.

i bring this up because ucla just had to back out of the holiday bowl and there's a video on their twitter page of a trip to sea world. most of them aren't wearing masks. not sure what the policy in the park is...but not the look of trying to do everything possible to not get sick while still having fun.

Drexel's WBB game vs. the soon to be former member will be rescheduled for Wednesday February 16th at 5PM.

Drexel MBB will be making a special trip down to UNCW on Monday January 31st in what will be the 3rd of a 4 game road trip. They'll be heading to CoC on Monday February 14th. Schedules are turning into a total clusterf--k of games, which will lead to some insane travel and some really tired players.
