I admire Tarleton's improved hustle but they are not there yet with all aspects of the game and Aimaq is a dominant player. ACU did a good job of reducing Aimaq's role and beat UVU even with different officiating than the Wildcats have seen in a few years.

I don't think any WAC teams are going to be able to power through Aimaq unless he has a really off night. A better approach is to get him away from the basket and hit outside as well as off or weak side on the inside. UVU is going to be trouble for a lot of teams.

NMSU, in a down year, with a smaller team than they have this year, in a year Aimaq won POTY, the Aggies held Aimaq to 7, 2 and 0 points in consecutive games last year. I like NMSU’s chances in limiting Aimaq.

Tell me about it. I’ve never seen so many 6’7”-6’10” guys miss so many layups and 2 foot bunnies.

Chicago State has a much better team this year than years past. They gave GCU fits for the first 10 minutes of our game on Thursday and now they are hanging tough with the Aggies. Just down 4 points at the half 26-30. I expect the Aggies to pull away in the second half, but CSU is no longer a push over.

So is Gillion going to be a hot (or at least warm) commodity?

I was expecting NMSU to pull away as well, but it's interesting to watch CSU hang in there like that. They fought till the end. I just don't think they had any more gas.

Betson and Corbett had a combined 49 points out of CSU's 61 total points. CSU will win some conference games this season for sure. Hell they probably will get some good upsets too.

Wasn't able to watch the game since my ESPN+ account doesn't work outside the USA. Based on the box score it seems different players stepped up for CSU. In the GCU game it was Dibba (1st college game) and Rushin who led the way. In this game it seemed to be Betson and Corbett stepping up. If CSU can get all four of these players playing well in the same game then they can be a force.
On a side note, it looks like Dibba will not be getting the WAC freshman of the week award after the poor showing against NMSU.

We did pull away. We’re up 27 late and took our foot off the gas. Still won by 17. Played 13 players. 12 had significant minutes.

DSU doesn't get its first basket until 14 minutes left in the 1st. Currently 16-2 ACU with 12:55 left. Using the bench nicely already and forcing several turnovers.

DSU not giving up though and have it back to 16-8. I give their defense some credit. We aren't getting good shots.

So far just a defensive battle. Now it's 16-10 with 6:40 left in the 1st. We are struggling to adjust.

We finally get a little offense going, mainly off of Cameron Steele. The score is 31-17 at the half and still a lot of credit to DSU's defensive game plan/execution. The 2nd half should be interesting.

Dixie had back to back to back turnovers just as they got closer though. They got it down to 8 I think.

ACU will provide the biggest challenge to the Aggies this season. We are very turnover prone and they are very good at forcing turnovers.
