BSU has a decent passing game. But they cannot run at all.

Guess we’re the only ones watching! They’ve moved the ball. Looks like the turnover TD will be the halftime difference.

Man, long ago I applied to GA State and got in but got in at UGA and went there instead. Georgia State was a little commuter school in the city. Hardly anyone even knew it existed. The idea of them even having a football team seems crazy to me now. But here they are. Up by two TDs.

BSU looks slow and out of sorts. This might eventually be a blowout.

Barring a miracle, the MAC’s one-game bowl winning streak is coming to a close. GA State QB has managed the game well. Would’ve liked to see BSU’s playmaker in the game, but what can ya do?

Brutal.

This is looking more like a dismal 1-7 bowl season.

CMU is among our better teams but I think Boise wins, perhaps decisively.

And Lester is Lester.

Love my MAC, but we are the worst in FBS.

I would agree with this 100%! Besides the geographical advantage our opponents have in bowl games, they just allocate more money to their football programs as well. The axiom "you get what you pay for" comes to mind.

I wonder how much the MAC's decision to whore itself out to ESPN in November has affected this. At WMU you guys really had only FOUR home games that could be characterized as "fan friendly" this season. With the resulting attendance figures, it's difficult to build true statewide engagement, compelling the University to match other G5 spending. Waldo is a wonderful venue, I would love to attend a game there, BUT NOT ON A WEEKNIGHT IN NOVEMBER.

Yes, that ESPN contract is worth some decent money and provides National exposure. That exposure, however, does not seem to be attracting superior athletes or else our bowl record would be better. Maybe I'm wrong....

The new C-USA will be the worst league for some time for sure.

There’s not a big gap between AAC and SBC if there’s one at all once a couple of their members move along.

I don't think bowl games are the measuring stick for conference superiority. Regular season win/loss records would be the better way.

Yea I've been saying this, more or less, for years.

We've been the worst FBS conference just once since 2010 according to Sagarin averages, and above the Belt/C-USA this year. Yes we need to do better in bowls, but bowls penalize conference parity; it's a lot easier to win your games when you're like the Belt and have just four teams playing (with three above 10 wins) instead of eight eligible ones (and none above 9). Early in the season EMU (tied for last in the West) mopped the floor with Texas State (second in their division), I know the Belt only has ten teams but that's telling.

Bowls are a crapshoot. When the MAC has had good teams, they’ve had their coaches poached. Ball State was playing without their best guy, things happen. But dang some of the frustrating ways we lose bowl games can be brutal.

Certainly not, especially when only one of them is a home game for us.

Our 3rd place team in the East beat the MAC Champion. Georgia State dominated Miami.

30% of our conference won 10 games.

Referencing the Sun Belt West is an exercise in futility considering the MAC just lost to two East schools. The Sun Belt East is as good as the West is bad; one of the best divisions in the G5.

It took the refs screwing NIU at end of both halves and us leaving 25 players behind in DeKalb to quarantine for Coastal to win though.

Georgia State beat Ball State (not Miami), and that was a matchup of your 4th best team in the whole conference against our 8th. CCU beat NIU but it was definitely an evenly matched game, not a runaway.

Yes 30% of your conference won 10 games while 0% of the MAC did, but 60% of your conference won five or less versus just 25% of ours. The point isn't that the top third of our conference is equal to your top third, but that our middle and bottom thirds are a lot better. I didn't see any of your middling teams have wins like Pitt and Minnesota, which is what WMU (tied for last in the West) and BG (4th in the East) accomplished.
