RE: Official Game Thread: Georgia
Georgia is pretty awful. They only beat WCU by 6 last game, and they have lost to Wofford this year. We should have a chance tonight.

Kenpom agrees.

5-6 Georgia is rated lower by Kenpom: #177 compared to #155 ETSU. But the home court advantage has Kenpom predicting a 1 point win for the Bulldogs, 70- 69, with a 43% chance of an ETSU upset.

Georgia’s big win was a home win over #31 Memphis, 82-79. That’s the only strong win on the schedule thus far: the other wins are over #242 Florida International, #329 South Carolina State, #226 Jacksonville, and #289 Western Carolina, all at home.

#155 ETSU would be the second best win on their schedule thus far.

In addition to losing to Wofford and barely getting by Western Carolina, Georgia has lost convincingly at home to #126, 7-5 George Mason by 80-67.

They’ve got the athletes to beat Memphis, but are definitely beatable. It will take a 40 minute game though, not a half effort like A&T. Memphis is also an up and down team, losing to Mississippi (which was defeated by Samford last night) and to Murray State (defeated by ETSU). So the Georgia win over the Tigers may not be quite as impressive as it seems.

Kenpom is probably right to make Georgia a slight favorite. But definitely a winnable game.

Just saying — Forbes first team had beaten Ga Tech before losing to UNCA by 20, which, of course, has nothing to do with this game except that college basketball can be an up and down, down and up sport year in and year out.

Like I said in the other thread, I would like to win of course but I am more interested in if we can compete. A close loss, okay, but getting blown out by a team that other SoCon teams have beat or played competitively with would be red flag.

We are still trying to find our way. If we can keep our turnovers down, not get into these 5 min scoring droughts and make some damn shots we will be competitive and can win this one. But if we have 15 or more TOs and are cold from 3, we will lose, maybe big.

We shoot poorly, and again are disorganized for periods, and lose by 12-14. Would love to be wrong.

Charlie Weber injured in warnups, so ETSU jumps out to a 12- 4 lead.

What is the nature of his injury?

If Yasser sticks around he could go down as an all-time fan favorite,
He just works hard.

Captain obvious here says without doubt the most consistent 20 minutes the Bucs have played this year.

Yasser looks like a young Mike Smith.

RE: Official Game Thread: Georgia
GA isn’t going to win this shootout unless ETSU goes cold. Then again, there’s a knack for that between halves. GA really isn’t taking advantage of the big hole in the post, though, and the Bucs look alive. Yasser is a damn baller. I’ll say it every game. I really was expecting something uninspired tonight, but maybe Oliver said what was needed. Heck, maybe he threatened playing time to go to Farah if those ahead in rotation don’t step up. Who knows. Just coach this team to a road win, coach.

Georgia has no patience on offense. If they correct that...

One big difference is Sloan showed up tonight. Last two games, no Sloan, Not the only reason but we don't have that many horses (LA, King & Sloan)
to carry the scoring load, others might step up but those guys have to contribute.

1 FOR 12 at the line. Are you KIDDING me. GA with a 4-pt lead now. Momentum favoring the home team with 7:40 left. We’ll see.

Great win and great player management given the short bench.
Hats off to the Bucs tonight. They showed up on a mission!
