It isn’t closed for them, they have a few more weeks to enter - I haven’t read much on how many transfers they have thus far.

Why? They hired a coach the players seem to like and they had a good season. The Butt hurt over the former coach seems to be gone. Not sure why you think everyone would exit.

Question - We usually bring in 20+ high school kids and I'm guessing 8 - 10 portal kids. Should Coach Hammock bring in 10 - 15 high school kids and 10 - 15 transfers?

No, bring in the 20+ HS and the 8-10 portals. They need #s on the HS kids, because they really don;t know who will be a PLAYER. Hell, the NFL took Trubisky over Maholmes and waited on Brady and Perdy until the 6th round. You have a solid class id you find 6- 8 players and contributiors a year, and throw in some transfers and you can field a team.

That's the blueprint. The reality is that Hammocks HS recruits on offense have been sub par. He's had to use the portal at WR bc his recruiting there has been almost zero outside of the 1 guy who is now leaving. TE has needed transfers and obviously QB. If you can't recruit you HAVE to portal.
