Ummmm yeah well BYU isn't the only team that was down a bunch of players.

I guess we could argue about the definition of talent, but I felt from the beginning of the game that UAB was the faster and more athletic team.

I will say that they had some dudes on offense that were hard to bring down - of course the running back, but some of those receivers as well... but it seemed they kinda wore down in the fourth quarter... just a general observation...

I would think most UAB fans on here would agree with that statement since they are always claiming Clark's recruiting is less than stellar as evidenced by the recruiting rankings they follow.

They were a 6.5 favorite. It’s not like they were at 23.5 point favorite and lost by 6 at home… They need to sit and calm down.

They probably are more talented than us, but they sound like sore losers. We clearly outplayed them yesterday.

Watching the replay we looked like the more physical team dominating the fourth quarter. It was really two evenly matched teams talent wise. Both teams have future nfl players maybe they have one or two more.

BYU is more talented in some areas but not on the lines. UAB smacked them around in the 1st, byu rallied and probably win the 2nd and 3rd at the line but uab wore them down and blew them off the ball in the fourth.

Hard to argue that in the 4th & especially the last drive that we lined up & they knew what we were going to do yet didn't stop it. They can say they're more talented all they want but they didn't play like it

No, what they say is that they have a crappy defensive coordinator that only has a job because their HC is reluctant to fire his old friends.

The game was very similar to the UTSA game. We punched them in the mouth early and often. They responded then we responded. Second half they came out motivated but so did UAB and with some decisive play calling and great defense
when the time came for the call of the game we didn't hesitate to pull the trigger.
We were big time in the moment. Hell I was so proud that the cold, wet, windy weather left my mind all together. We may have lost the battle late in the season in our last conference lost but we won the war yesterday with the Independence Bowl victory. People will remember the December 18,2021 Bowl victory over 13th BYU for ever.

That last quarter the BYU defense was gassed; I could have run for 5 yards per down on them at that point. They looked like they did not want to be there. There were only about a dozen or so folks in the upper deck with me and Smaug in the 4th quarter.
