WKU is beating App State 59-31.

Sure for a few years the call ups will struggle but CUSA will be competing for 2nd, 3rd and 4th among the G5 in few years. The MWC is by far the top G5 now. And the Sunbelt, AAC, and CUSA will be interchangeable

CUSA 4.0 is already better than the AAC and Sunbelt in basketball

True. If UTEP and Liberty win they could be 4-0. If one wins, 3-1 is not bad.

I'd believe this more about negotiations if it wasn't coming from a Marshall fan, who probably has interest in seeing CUSA fail.

First thing I heard is that CUSA is trying its best to secure a future TV deal to keep the league relevant. Even though the league has gotten commitments from other schools to join, the long-term viability is still very much in doubt due to lack of interest from TV execs. Bids for broadcasting rights might actually end up coming in lower than what it currently has. Not good.

2nd......LA TECH came very close to ending up in the Sunbelt. LA Tech's AD pursued a return to the Sunbelt but it all came down to JMU. Appy State, Coastal and Georgia Southern all pushed hard for Eastern expansion with Marshall, ODU and JMU. If the JMU deal fell through, it was going to be LA Tech added to the west. JMU got their ducks in a row and the rest is history.

So what does this tell me? La Tech is very likely next in line for a Sunbelt invitation if the landscape moves again.

Wow! All that history and success at LT and they still got passed over for an FCS call up. 04-jawdrop
And as much as you suck all u needed to do was be in Dallas.

I wasn't throwing shade at LT. I think it's wrong that the Sun Belt took JMU over LA Tech. And in my opinion, I think it was dumb to take Southern Miss ahead of LT.

I don't see why you choose to diminish UNT. After 8 years together in C-USA, UNT and LA Tech have the same number of C-USA football championships... zero. At least UNT basketball has a C-USA tournament title in the trophy case.

You should also abandon the Dallas market myth.... Then American already had SMU in the Dallas market. UNT was added because we have invested and built facilities deserving of inclusion in the AAC. Being in the DFW market wasn't the main factor in our move to the American. It's quite obvious that the American didn't need UNT for the Dallas market.

You still think SMU is going to be there, that's cute. The B12 is going to be decimated again before this is over. My guess is 3-4 B12 originals could still move and WVU. The B12 is going to look something like an urban CUSA2.0, without any atonomy.

You still selling your speculation as facts... that's cute. 07-coffee3

Further conference change effecting the Big12 could be a decade or more down the road. A lot can change in that much time. Just look how much has changed since the 2013 realignment 9 years ago.... UAB died, was resurrected, and became the prominent conference product all during that time frame... Did anyone actually think UNT would get invited to the American in less than a decade? Absolutely not. None of us can predict the future.

Liberty when commissioner Judy visited asked about TV contracts and the answer was that would come up in the Spring. I don't even know that I buy that negotiation have begun.

If there is another round it will come down to the western members fighting for LA Tech. Last round they didn’t and let the eastern members get their choice. Best case would be for the AAC to want the Austin “market” and take Texas St leaving the SBC to take WKU.

Louisiana Tech will be in the AAC or Sunbelt someday. ESPN will decide. LTU will have a better program without Holtz. The basketball is well above average. They have fans

They clearly care more about location. If SMU leaves they make sense.

Yeah. Exactly. Nothing against JMU but stupefying move to add JMU over La Tech, MT, or wkcc.

Quality of football in the CUSA will be equal or most likely better than SBC, AAC, MWC or the MAC.

WKU looked much better than App who is the darling of SBC. ULL losing their coach will drop down quickly.

This. ^^^^^^^^

By the way, adding JACKSON STATE AS #10, would be great for CUSA from both a exposure/competitive standpoint AS WELL AS a financial standpoint.

People ARE talking!!

Going to 10 with JACKSON STATE would nicely put a bow on the conference geographically/competitively and from a marketability standpoint.

Austin is Longhorn country. There is no advantage to adding a team in San Marcos. The American would be better served by adding from somewhere else. Nothing against Texas State, it's just the truth.

Could it be that Jackson St. is popular because of their coach. When he leaves what's to keep them relevant? I JS is Fcs how come they played a bcs school in the bowls? I'm stumped.

I could say that about every program the AAC added this round. They got locations not marketz.
