Athletic Department Changes in the Wake of Realignment?
With every current C-USA program effected by the latest round of realignment I was wondering if your respective AD's are planning to alter their current model/operating structure going forward? Will there be changes in financial commitment? Scheduling? Coaches' pay scale? Facilities investment? Marketing? Recruiting? Other areas I may have not mentioned? What changes do you want to see in your athletic department's priorities?

The answer is yes. I do not know all the details. The problem is state support continues to drop. Enrollment also has been going down. That said some athletic administrators have got some marginal raises. Of course some job descriptions now include more work and they are asked to cover extra areas.
WKU (similar to La Tech) does wonders considering the size of our athletic budget. Our team records and conference championships speak for themselves. I don't know how much longer we can overachieve.
That is why this latest conf. re-alignment is so devastating. We could have used some increased income and lower travel costs-- instead of the opposite. Additionally that exit fee money is minimal and will not be a game changer.
Schools like North Texas (budget wise) have got it made compared to La Tech and WKU.
Sour grapes? NO. Just the facts.

I am not going to "shut up" despite complaints from other posters and even other WKU posters who think we should just accept our "fate" and quit griping. I will continue to root for all current C-USA teams--- till they leave the conference. When you/they are gone my support goes too.

Of course JSU will have lots of changes. On the football side "everything" will change.
Facilities are scheduled to change.
Upgrade of the football stadium, 80-100 million. Will include a new fieldhouse and dining area.

When ODU and Charlotte joined C-USA not much changed for them. Neither really expanded their stadiums or built new stuff. Was adding new facilities a requirement for JSU getting an invitation from C-USA?

Already approved before any talks started.
Our stadium was already FBS quality. All of our facilities would be comparable to most SBC and CUSA schools, today.

How do these folks not know about Jacksonville State? I guess I'm a geek-nerd. Been to most schools within 200 miles. Guess if I lived out West I would not be as familiar. Attended games at a fair amount of these East schools.
IMO, JSU has more potential than SHSU or NMSU (FB). Fan support, facilities, money, football love and Alabama kids get FB's for their first birthday! Great state except for a few knuckleheads (we've all got 'em).
